    I already updated manually to v60 soon after it was released. No problems on both Windows and Fedora.

    Like Fly, and Frans (in Dutch), also mwsasser on the Thunderbird Support Forum reported that on Thunderbird 52.9.1 the internal updater does not offer the update to 60.3.0 and earlier 60.2.1. The same for a friend of mine.

    Today, on the Thunderbird Support Forum, Wayne Mery replied: "Next week."

    Any opions about the new versions ? Months (?) ago I took a look at the 60+ version and didn't like it much. I have no need for the new features. So I restored an image.
    The question is: what do you really get ? If bugs in the 52 version are not an issue ...

    Hi Fly,
    As I don't use Thunderbird myself, and have no experience with version 60+, I can't help you with details or an opinion on version 60+.
    Apart from having had a look at it yourself, I suppose you also had a look at sources like these?
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-thunderbird-60
    https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/60.0/releasenotes/
    https://blog.mozilla.org/thunderbird/2018/08/whats-new-in-thunderbird-60/
    Could you elaborate on your question, "what do you really get?" What would you like to know, that wasn't mentioned in sources like those above?

    Did it update from 60.x, or from 52.9.1?
    If it auto-updated from 52.9.1, that would be news, and good to know.

    Well, I've been using it for quite a while without any problems. The add-ons I need all work well with one exception: uBlock Origin. Its legacy version doesn't work anymore, and its webext version not yet.
    The new versions also fix numerous security issues. Sure, most of them are not exploitable in TB when reading emails (as javascript is disabled and can't even be re-enabled manually) but it might be relevant if you're using TB for RSS feeds or chats.

    Ah, OK, thanks very much.
    Yes, to users running Thunderbird 60.x, the update to 60.3.0 is offered.
    For users running 52.9.1, yesterday, Wayne Mery said, "Next week."

    @Stupendous Man ,

    'Could you elaborate on your question, "what do you really get?" What would you like to know, that wasn't mentioned in sources like those above?' Well, since I have no need for new features ... security or stability fixes could be relevant, but I've had no problems thus far.

    Hi Fly,
    As I mentioned, I don't use Thunderbird myself, and have no experience with version 60+, so I can't help you with details regarding version 60+. If what you would like to know is not in the sources that I mentioned, I hope that other Wilders contributors can offer you some more of the details you'd like.

    I noticed a post in Dutch that says 'Today update from version 52.9.1 to version 60.3.0 32-bits'.
    Can anyone who was still on Thunderbird version 52.9.1 confirm that update to version 60.3.0 is now offered through automatic update or through 'About Thunderbird'?

    Thanks very much, Adric.
    Can you confirm you were on Thunderbird version 52.9.1 (not on 60.x)?

    Great, thanks very much for confirming. :thumb:
    So I suppose Thunderbird 60.3.0 is now available via internal updater to all users running 52.9.1.

    @Stupendous Man ,

    I took a look, didn't like it and reverted to the previous version. It's basically a larger (codebase) program isn't it ?

    A friend told me that she likes 60.3.0 better than 52.9.1.
    As always, it's very personal, what one likes or dislikes.
    I don't know, I haven't looked into that.
