Version 12 has been released. For changelog go to https://www.eset.com/int/home/internet-security/download/ , advanced download option: changelog Version 12.0.27.0 Added: Referral program Improved: Activation wizard improvements Improved: Security Reports and Unlock Tool Fixed: Minor functional and localization bugs At the moment I don't see it mentioned at the Eset forum and at the Eset news site. They come later, I guess. It was also mentioned at the end of the "ESET NOD32 v11" thread. (thanks to the posters there). But lets have a new thread for version 12.
It's now also at the Eset News site: https://support.eset.com/news7047/ And that link gets us: What's new in ESET version 12 home products https://support.eset.com/kb7045/ There you can read more explanation. ========== And it is now also at the Eset forum: https://forum.eset.com/topic/17281-eset-windows-home-products-version-120270-have-been-released/
And for those interested, here is : Eset kb2885 article "Download and install ESET offline or install older versions of ESET products" https://support.eset.com/kb2885/
Yes they were. Eset just posted further details on vers. 12 here: https://forum.eset.com/topic/17284-version-internetsecurity-120270/?do=findComment&comment=85534 This update can best be described as an internal operational update. Eset internal updating improvements being the primary emphasis it appears. Eset is somewhat unique among AV's in that it is constantly updating its internal security processes and no longer is dependent upon periodic major software updates.
Thanks itman for that link. From the post by foneil there: What's the latest in ESET’s antivirus Windows security solutions? https://www.eset.com/us/about/newsr...n-esets-antivirus-windows-security-solutions/
I agree. ESET is light on your system, and their signatures are pretty good. I'm just trying to find out whether ESET has features that makes it a go-to AV for xxJackxx but, or course, it would also be interesting to know why he contemplates leaving his current AV.
Wow, didn't expect to find all of these responses to my comment. As for why I left it after being a customer for 12 years... they didn't contact me to renew. It is hard to find a good price on it though it looks like Newegg has some deals at the moment. It at the time was the slowest product I was testing for web browsing or opening network shares. I am hoping that is no longer the case but I will see. As to why I would come back, low false positives, I like the UI, and it is reasonably effective while being less annoying than most. As to why I would leave my current AV, it is about to expire and as I get to the last few days there are no incredible deals for my current product. I will likely at some point get a new license when it is cheap. I usually carry active licenses for at least 3 products and will not pay $80 for any of them when $25 or less deals can be had. Question for anyone that would know, though I could and may post it on their forum... I just registered for a trial and was emailed a key. Is it allowed to trial it with the same key on 2 PCs at the same time?
I don't think so. Newegg is the only place in the U.S. that I have found good prices on ESET products that I have found but they have these good prices almost every day if you sign up for their email ads. For example, I recently bought Smart Security Premium for $9.95 while it was shown on regular Newegg at $59.95 ($20 dollars off). I don't know if you ever saw my pic here of a pile of ESET products that I am saving for the future. Well, I'm 84 now and it's time to slow down.
The deal on Eset Smart Security Premium ($9.99) is good through 10/25/18 (tomorrow): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832114107
Yep but if you want it - act quickly because if they run out of stock the end date is meaningless. Happened to me recently.
This is a fantastic deal considering it is for Smart Security which includes the password manager. Just picked it up for $12.98 including shipping. Will sit on it till my current Internet Security license expires in Feb..
Well no, but technically, you would only face an issue if both computers are on at the same time and updating at the same time. Then it would raise a flag to the ESET Activation Servers.
Thanks for reminding me. It came yesterday and I haven't done a review on it. I'm actually giving it to the guy who cuts my hair.
I just ordered the 5 device Internet Security from Newegg with the code listed in the other thread that expires tomorrow. It went from 101.74 with the code to 26.74. I guess for that price you can't go wrong. Thanks everyone for the responses.
I am pleasantly surprised so far. It's running very smoothly. So are the rest of you running Regular updates or Pre-release? I always used to run Pre-release without any issues. Just curious what others are doing.
I moved to pre-release updates to get v12 when my curiosity got the best of me, but now reset to regular updates (still on v12.0.27.0) to avoid any potential issues with betas.
