    It isn'
t blurred if you look at it full size. Damn I can't see anything here

Oh it is. That's the forum compressing it though.

    Yay! I can see! :D forum.png
I can't get it to look this good with Dark Reader, while still being able to see what I write. And I can't configure Dark Reader to only work on this site - what is possible with Midnight Lizard. But the lizard is like 5 times slower. :(

Odd is, the picture is darker than it is in reality.

It doesn't work for me! What are your settings? Is it a browser theme-thing?

So do you use default settings in Dark Reader? If I do that I still have black text in this form. EDIT: But you were talking about contrasts??
I use my own CSS, but I'll try out SlinkyElegant.

Nope. My CSS and the Theme both don't change the text color in that field. Sorry I always said it's a form, oops.

    EDIT:
Ah what: SlinkyElegant is for Chrome. I thought you were using Firefox? And I mistook a theme named SimplyElegant for it.

To the best of my knowledge, but I may have tinkered there long ago :doubt: who knows now. Here they are -

Looking at this now, these screenshots look like c**p. Editors, various image formats, browser engine renders, forum specifics.
I'm not complaining, just pointing out that we're using different browsers (I've been on Chrome dev for years). And practically different extension, though it bears the same name.

No, for some reason I thought you are using Firefox. Then it is no wonder why it works differently for you.
Dark Reader seems to darken the images in the page. If you'd use Midnight Lizard you could choose not to.

Obviously Dark Reader for Firefox is just Dark Reader by name. From what you report it acts very differently from mine. I have never heard of Lizard, that's why I thought it's a skin/theme, this must have been an original Firefox extension. I never used Firefox (ouch).

Now, where's my purple Wilders theme?

No it actually is original Chrome. Rather new. Try it. I think I have overblown it's slowness. Developer hears your wishes, just ask

And it is slower but it's way more customizable. Will use it for a couple of days and we'll see.

    Cheers Nikopol.

That looks like it would in firefox. But I already changed much and I can't use Flat_Awesome because of this issue I have. So I have to deal with the Blue

This is just for what it's worth, since we came to the wrong conclusion earlier.
I figured out why our Dark Readers look so differently. I was suspicious as to why would an extension ported for 2 browsers be that different so I tinkered a bit and found out that it was me at fault - I was not aware that I wasn't using defaults (forgot probably). You need to click on 'More' and then choose 'Filter' theme engine ('Static' was default) to have it look like mine.

OH! You're right! I haven't seen that option! I usually tinker with everything, though.
Ha! Nice. Some images are inverted, like the color picker and the emojis, but that was also the case with midnight lizard. :):(
The text-stroke function is really nice, too

EDIT: They are only inverted in the editor, which is better than the lizard.

Emojis are embedded in the Unicode, and despite being pictures, the extension treats them as fonts.

I really like this addon now. It looks so good and is fast! Though, I wish it would work flawless in dynamic mode because that looks even better.

See? All those screenshots were not for nothing. Lizard is great, but all that awesome customizing (but unnecessary for most people) adds a drain on resources.

Curious what all this has to do with security?

The topic started where it shoud have. As it is now, it's good for 'other software'.
But the point is that it had a good purpose.

[EDIT] Ah I get it now. My babbling in the middle. I already forgot.

So any progress on this? I'd rather avoid getting eye cancer on here if possible. Using Dark Reader to prevent corneal burn in at night shouldn't be necessary IMO.

You're right. But we are alone in the dark. I settled on Dark Reader.

I use Vivaldi (which is a Chrome Browser) and use an extension called Deluminate. You can literally control every site you visit. This includes the noormal view, full range dimming as well as contrast adjustments. You can invert the luminance in several ways. This by far the best extension I've found from creating a customized "dark mode" tailored to individual sites.

    Yes.
This was the one I was using a couple of years ago on Chrome (prior to Dark Reader), but could not remember the name. There was something wrong with it when I last tried it, but now I see it's rated high again.
I'll try it these days, I remember it being very light.

Dark mode is highly wanted, YouTube, Reddit and many others can't be wrong. It's a real trend. There are plans to have it here?
