I think 2018 has been the year of browsers. There's lot of good options out there now. Firefox, Vivaldi, Brave, Palemoon, Waterfox, etc..

I still have Chrome on my system, but I don't use it much lately. Firefox has always been my primary browser anyway.

 

What does Google plan for its web browser that it does not wish its users to be aware of? Could concealment be facilitated by preventing third-party protections from intruding into its own 'personal privacy' space?

 

So I updated Malwarebytes (Premium) and it is driving me crazy! Just starting Firefox and MSN it is flagging trojans. I really do not want to make a bunch of exclusions, so is there a method to "tame" it a bit? Thank you!

Never mind! Easy to exclude as, if it warns just moving the cursor over the icon on the taskbar offers the exclude option.

 

Are you sure that is a FP ?
Maybe some malware infected your normal program , makes you feel it's FP , however it's not .

i suggest you can upload those files warning by Malwarebyres to VirusTotal and scan them .

I am using Firefox 62.0.3 with Malwarebytes Premium 3.6.1.2711 , no flagging or detect any thing ,
it's pretty stable .

I am aware of that. So, have you concluded that MBAM's problem involved its MBAE component?

 

That was something I was curious about. But @ratchet indicated it was a trojan, and I don't think MBAE deals with those types of threats.

 

please. this is obnoxious fud. edge doesn't allow code injection by virtue of the fact that it uses appcontainer sandboxing. google is blocking code injection now and firefox will be blocking it in 2019.

I'm extremely familiar with google and their spying on users - this is why I opt not to use any google products. You implied that code injection blocking had some nefarious rationale, and I said that was fud because it is - it's in upstream repos for Chromium (open source project) as well. It has nothing to do with anything.

 

I get what 'fud' means to you. Where I come from 'fud' means pies. I hope that Google's self-confidence in their browser's security is justified by events. It's worrying when devil's advocates are fired.

 

Regarding the Google Chrome objections to MBAE, Arthi has posted that there is "New Updated Protection for Chrome and Edge Browsers" and "we have implemented an alternate approach to offer protection to Chrome and Edge users without DLL injection". From the wording "we have implemented ..." I have assumed that this innovation is included within MBAE 1.12.1.136.

Powershell no longer blocked on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro.

 

Windows 7 users should appreciate the ability of MBAE to enable bottom-up ASLR which, I understand, increases entropy for ASLR in Windows 7. Windows 8 and later seem to offer enhanced ASLR entropy in comparison with Windows 7. Does Google Chrome have built-in provision for enable bottom-up ASLR when running in Window 7?
