    You're looking in the wrong sub-folder: not extensions but browser-extension-data

    Thanks, but the only folder similar to that on the saved old profile is the extensions folder with the file I listed. The folders go from bookmarkbackups to cache2, no file name of browser anything !

    Gorhill, you're a genius. Seems like you fixed the problem with google.com, and the cool thing is that Gmail and Google Maps keep working. But why didn't you fix this before, is it because WebExtensions offers more options? This leads me to my following question, is it possible to implement this in older versions? I'm still using FF 52, because FF Quantum has been a huge disaster, it's just as bad as Chrome, it's missing crucial features.

    WebExtensions offer less options.
    Latest version of uBlock should work with FF 52 too.
    If you want to use uBlock in private mode browsing you'll have to use the last legacy version which is 1.16.4.4.
    In private mode browsing all newer versions are a no-go, irrespective of what your FF version is.

    A nasty pop-up although I have already include the following filters:
    Code:
    @@||thewindowsclub.com^$generichide
    www.thewindowsclub.com puzzlingfall.com * block

    Do you have the ublock filters list enabled? It applies

    Code:
    thewindowsclub.com##script:inject(abort-current-inline-script.js, Date.now, adBlocker)

    Code:
    @@||thewindowsclub.com^$generichide
    www.thewindowsclub.com puzzlingfall.com * block

    You're totally right about this, it works on FF 52 and FF 62. Then I wonder why Gorhill never offered this feature before, but better late than never. BTW, Google Maps doesn't work when you disable scripts on google.com, but Gmail does because the address is accounts.google.com, so bit of a bummer. But as a workaround I can simply use google.nl/maps.

    These are near the top of the page and begin showing up after a free period of 30 days.

    what is the result of using the element picker in ublock?
    what about blocking inline scripts?

    (not registered and wont, i dont use any of such pages)
    ofc you have to admit its a valid method for not paying users, its service is at least not free.

    Medium mode
    Edit: I'm not seeing "A nasty pop-up about cookies from Quantcast" with 0 Built-in filters.

    I have tried using the element picker and after a dozen or so elements removed there is still the large space left over. Removing inline scripts don't work either. The only ad blocker that works perfectly on this site is Adguard but I prefer to use uBlock Origin.

    You can use uBlock with AdGuard filters like @bjm_ is showing in post 3545. Best of both worlds?

    Tried them, they used to but they don't work any more. They appear to be broken according to Adguard support.

    That's unfortunate, but it seems to work for @bjm_ ? Maybe he can share his experience?
