I agree. I can whitelist stuff on my computer but I'm not willing to do this for whole internet...

Couldn't agree more. If you go to many different websites each and every day, it is just too much of a hassle and too time-consuming to whitelist everything. I have tried NoScript two or three times in the past, but I always ended up removing this addon after a couple of minutes.

Solution is to have one browser profile for sites you log in (preferably in other containers of Firefox), especially when logging in with real name and second browser for surfing freely.
You harden first profile using NoScript or other script-blocking plugin, but not second.
Look at breach at Ticketmaster. There were script on the website that eavesdropped on typed data (including credit card and PII) and send that information to hackers.

And exactly for use in such situations NS is designed...you can trust/whitelist pages your daily routine but not trust others pages.
One point for NS from me :thumb:

    Just a small change.
I don't know why, but my FortiClient didn't update the antivirus signature on weekends... so, now I'm just using the Web Filtering module and I have reinstalled Avast Free (File Shield only, NVT OSA's BB is lighter than Avast's) with Hardened Mode on Aggressive

    OS: Win10 Home 64bit ( version 1803, build 17134.254 )
    FW: Binisoft WFC
AV: Avast Free (File Shield only) with Hardened Mode on Aggressive
    BB: NoVirusThanks OSArmor
Misc: NoVirusThanks SysHardener, Fortinet Forticlient Web Filtering, uBlock Origin, Windows Privacy Dashboard, O&O ShutUp10
    OD: AdwCleaner, HitmanPro, Zemana AntiMalware
    DNS: CleanBrowsing DNS (Security Filter)

That's why I never use it. I have no patience to sit and whitelist the hundreds of sites that I visit.

hundreds? make that tens of thousands. esp. if you use social media where links to millions of websites shared constantly.

That's why ublock filters are king! Long live our overlord, filterlists.com ! I personally check EVERY SINGLE filter there EXTENSIVELY once a month and if the filter hasn't been updated in the last 2 weeks or something else happened to it, it gets removed, while I'm also looking for new potential filters to join my collection of useful-updated-filters

    Here's my personal collection:

Wow, 1 million filters. And I thought I have many with 90.000+ enabled :)
How does this impact browser's performance?

It's like a lightning, it's so fast the page loads before I even type the site in the address bar! No, that's like a snail in comparison to how fast it is! It's SO fast, your neurons haven't even started MOVING when the page has already loaded! NO, it's EVEN faster! It's SOOO fast, it makes LIGHT look like a STATIONARY object ;)

Linux didn't pan out. Wasn't able to log onto my works system. Kept getting an Unsecured browser error. Upgraded my HD to a nice new SSD and put VoodooShield pro and KFA back on.

Ive been running just EAM since a couple of years ago. Got busy in life with a small business and have no time to tinker with setups nowadays. (I like to do some gaming in my free time instead of trying new security stuff)
So here i am, running just EAM for the past 2+ years.

Oh, forgot to mention my PC is obsolete so anything i install affects the performance.
Still running a Core 2 Quad LGA775 CPU with a paltry 4GB of ram since the other pair of sticks wont work.

Hi @Noob I have had a similar setup for some time: just KIS, that's all. My computer is not exactly new, either. Only 2 GB of ram, but it's OK because I don't install more software than is absolutely necessary (MS Office, a backup solution and some smaller programs).
