They have released a new version which now blocks known trackers. Apparently older versions did not do this out of the box. Perhaps some of you can check it out. The good news is that for the first time ever, PB actually seemed to function correctly. But the question is how trustworthy is it because it's telling me that google-analytics.com and connect.facebook.net don't seem to be tracking me.

And your point is? I doubt that google-analytics.com is not tracking me, but I might be wrong. I've been running PB for a week now and it seems to function correctly, it works fine together with uBlock. I'm not sure yet if it does sometimes slows website loading. But anyway, I rather have them use a blacklist, I'm not sure about this heuristics stuff.
My point was that the blacklist is only added on new Privacy Badger installations, so it probably hasn't seen enough instances of google analytics to mark it as a tracker. This is also why I combine PB with uBlock, to have heuristics and blacklisting. Also, when using different blockers together it is not so clear anymore which one is blocking what. For example they may both report to be blocking the same tracker, but 1 blocks the tracker itself, and 2 blocks the whole domain. Or maybe one replaces a tracker with a surrogate and the other thinks it is the real tracker.
Well that sounds pretty stupid because this would mean that their heuristics sucks. I'm also not convinced yet about PB, I'm not sure if it's as good as Ghostery. I did notice that it replaces Facebook and Twitter buttons, I believe Ghostery removes them completely.
Without using a VM, can you use different browsers for different identities without being finger printed??
I'm sorry, I'm not an expert on this subject, others can probably explain it better. But I doubt that these type of extensions can fully block all tracking. But it's better than nothing.
