From what i heard, workable; necessary? absolutely not.

the whole point of Cylance is to put in a non-signature based build, since it has very low impact and acceptably accurate/fast detections compared to other signatures from AVs.
not saying it's better than Kaspersky or ESET sigs, but if people have a distaste of Kaspersky(or doesn't want performance impact) and have issues with ESET somehow, it's the 3rd best choice.

it is absolutely not a good idea to run it barebones alone.

LoneWolf, I think you were one of my first friends here, ages ago it seems, who was early on the "light virtualization" train.
    Am I right about that?
I'm still running with Deep Freeze, too. Steady as she goes.

Exactly, I was talking about tools like Carbon Black and SentinelOne to name a few. Not that they are foolproof, I remember that Carbon Black couldn't stop a Powershell based keylogger in a certain test. With keystroke encryption it was easily stopped.

    OS: Windows 7 x64
Built-in security: Privacy tweaks for windows 10
Firewall: Kasperksy internet security (there is no reason not to use this av, dont believe the propaganda about it.)
Backup: Freenas 11.1 with various timed backups of different data (when not running its powered off not on network)
On-demand AM scanners: adwcleaner, hmp, malwarebytes, crystal security, (drive with iso cd files with every av scanner if these seem off) Windows Defender
Browser: Firefox (ublock or ghostery) and https (brave browser)
    VPN: pia
    Passwords: Roboform
    Anonymity: Tor Browser
Other tools:pihole dns server with qaud 9 dns
Also every so often i wipe my system and start fresh from stratch. Its probably lacking some areas but its simple and takes nearly no upkeep.
I also backup my android phone often with full backups. Also i have separate backups on external drives too.

    Hello,
Just made a clean reinstall of Windows 10 on my pc after this one being corrupted by W10 updates and other things that happened i dont know how ...
Now considering building a new security solution to protect this system.

    Before i used :
    - Eset nod 32
    - uBlock origin
    - Malwarebytes, Zemana, Emsisoft
    - Macrium Reflect for backup
    - Adwcleaner
    - ZHPCleaner
    - VoodooShield

Now i want to build something on :
    - Kaspersky Internet Security
then add other softwares but maybe this is useless, but let's see :
    - Appguard
    - Hitman Pro Alert
    - OSArmor
    - Syshardener
    - Macrium for backup
    - uBlock Origin for sure
    - Adwcleaner, ZHPCleaner for OD scans for sure

There are many softs that people talk about here, and the pb is now how to associate them to get an honest working solution...
Can you please tell me what the f... program should I add to my config please ?

If you use Kaspersky Internet Security, you don't need anything else, just an ad blocker for your browser and a couple of on demand second opinion scanners.
SysHardener doesn't work in background, so you can use it too to reduce the attack surface.

if you use KIS the rest isn't needed.

Instead you can use Windows Defender and

Except KIS this is almost one of my setups.

can just repeat what was already said, you don't need all that garbage next to KIS, you're just making your computer scream for resources for no reason.

    @Pete8

With KIS I would add Macrium Reflect and uBlock Origin to round it up. It's my setup when I'm using Kaspersky instead of Eset.

Ok, that was just I understood from my readings here...
Now I'm just wondering why all people here just don't do the same thing, that is to say install KIS and throw away all the other stuff... KIS is 40-50€ for one or three years, why would people want to pay for Appguard that is 80-85$ a year ? and why would they add more money for HMPA ? what is the added value of Appguard which says himself to be superior to all other AV solutions...
This is why people here spend time on testing all these programs, but finally someting like KIS seems more than enough... although I'm not convinced with that as all security experts say that advanced threats and malwares know how to bypass AV solutions easily.

Because you can have the same good setup with free stuffs, you just need to use 2 or 3 of them instead of 1
