Hi guys ! Post about my freeware called "Zer0". Drag'n'drop, 1 click and the job is done. It simplements a high security data deletion algorithm. Give a try and post feedback Web : https://www.kcsoftwares.com/?zero Screenshot : https://kcsoftwares.com/images/zero_screen.png
It has strange behavior after installing the lite version and after uninstalling it ! From Emsisoft AM Log : ---- Date PID Application Event Detection 3/23/2016 8:01:21 PM 1836 C:\Users\####\AppData\Local\Temp\_iu14D2N.tmp Allowed once by user Behavior.DirectDiskAccess // While uninstalling 3/23/2016 7:59:57 PM 1100 C:\Users\####\AppData\Local\Temp\is-2A05N.tmp\zero_lite.tmp Blocked once by user Behavior.TrojanDownloader // After completing the installation ----
Useful app. I'm just playing with Zer0 and I really like it. Thank you very much for yet another great program. What about KCleaner? Isn't it more or less similar to CCleaner? I haven't tried it yet. Maybe I will give it a go.
Zer0 - 0.15 (Released 2018-01-05) ================================= https://www.kcsoftwares.com/?zero
Open source it and create a feature that automagically wipes the trash bin every day at a certain time and this tool will be my number 1 erasing program.
KCleaner does the automatic cleaning (running in background) : https://www.kcsoftwares.com/?kcleaner It uses Zer0 shredding engine

I do like Zer0, but I would like it even more if it were possible to empty the recycle bin with the help of Zer0, preferably by using a right-click menu, such as "Empty recycle bin with Zer0". By the way, it would also be great if Zer0 were not just able to delete files, but folders too. And what about adding Zer0 to KCleaner? I like both apps, but I think it would be more convenient to use just one app for removing unwanted files. Just a couple of ideas.
As you suggest, this feature is more on KCleaner side... and i prefer to keep both tools side by side for the time being (and one can be launched from the other) But thank you for your kind suggestion !
No, this does not work here, probably because I use the portable versions of Zer0 and KCleaner. Sure, Zer0 can be maintained separately, but why not add it to KCleaner as well? This would defintely make KCleaner a more powerful and useful tool. What's more, it would be even better if it were possible to add your own file types and folders to be cleaned. Unfortunately, Zer0 cannot delete foders, and it cannot delete files that are in the recycle bin, so I'm not too sure Zer0 is a keeper for me. PS: Do we still have a KCleaner thread here? I only found an old one that is closed now.
Proprietary algorithm. So far, no users reported they've been able to recover content or file erased by Zer0.
I understand that it is your trade-secret. Can you at least tell us how many times you overwrite them? How does your program/algorithm compare to the standard of 3 or 35 times with random data? Why is yours better? You must be able to answers these. "Users" are not the ones we would be anxious about when it comes to data recovery.
