Well the only four aside from Site Preferences (which I did not enable) are Cookies, Download History, Passwords and History that aren't selected . None of those should wipe out bookmarks and leave undeletable placeholders.
Krusty we have improved the Firefox History cleaning in the pending 3.6 release so it no longer stomps on bookmarks you may have. Nice pickup. We expect to release this early next week. In the mean time we have updated the rules so it will still work in existing versions, but won't do as much cleanup until next week.
I just bought Black Fog Privacy and I noticed an issue with it. As you can see from the screenshot BFP is running yet there is no way to access the GUI because there is no icon in the notification area.
I also find the BFP notification icon is dodgier than most, requiring setting W10 Settings>Personalisation>Taskbar back to on. (BFP is running though). Maybe the devs can look at this ...
After having used BFP for a bit now, I had some though/feature requests for it: It would be nice if had the ability to see specifics, in terms of what was blocked, when the user click on either the advertising profiling buttons. We have the ability to temporarily turn BFP off for 30 minutes. It would be nice if there were other options beside 30 mites, and it you would manually reactivate BFP protections. I would like Vivaldi to be included. Currently, FF, Chrome, IE, Edge, Opera, and Safari are supported. Thanks!
Couple of comments here after talking with the dev guys. Yes the notification can be tricky as we offer support for Windows 7 through 10 and we use the same technique for each rather than the recommended 10 technique. So we might need to suck it up and use the new technique to make sure it is 100% each time. 1. In regards to n8 comments, we are working on a new UI in 4.0 which will address your first point. We actually allowed for this in the design so it shouldn't be hard to enable when we are happy with he new UI. 2. You aren't the first person to ask this. Our struggle here is that many people forget to turn it back on and therefore limit their protections. We realize thats a personal decision. We just feel responsible if you get infected as a result. 3. Well I must confess, I haven't come across that one. Happy to put that in the queue for you though. The plumbing is there. We just usually wait to be asked.
Perhaps I was unclear, I'm not suggesting that the only way to reactive BFP should be manually. That would be stupid. I'm asking if there can be other methods, or time, the user can select to auto-activate protections other than 30 minutes. That seems way to long, in my opinion. What about 5, 10, or 15? Also, having the option to manual activate the protections, in addition to the 30 minute auto-timer, would be nice.
Lol, it was actually default 10 min (which was a bit short for me under certain circumstances) and I basically requested same as you, e.g. similar to NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro v3 (Disable for 10 minutes, Disable for 30 minutes, Disable for 1 hour, Disable until reboot, Disable permanently, along with the option to always manually enable). They just changed the default to 30 minutes, but I agree with you - those options would be first prize.
Funny! I think I just like the shorter time because nothing ever really changes on my setup, at least nothing that cannot be uninstalled/installed in under 5 minutes.
Hi Darren Regarding point #2 Some software has a reminder popup for the user. The popup, after a specified time, reminds the user whether he/she wants to turn on protection when the protection is off. After a few reminders the popup ceased for it's an indication that the user wants the protecion to be off temporary. You can have, like what n8 puts it, have a manual option for user to turn on the protection. As regards to not replying your mail I was actually waiting for Heilig MinerOff to release its newest version which I just installed. Let me see how its latest veriosn works out. Sorry for that.

The first app with Fake News blocking has been released on iOS now. The rest will follow shortly. The next release will focus on supervised device features for the enterprise, and filtering at the packet level like we do on Windows, and across any browser and protocol.
Hi NiteRanger, 3.6 is in internal testing right now so its still about a week away and the Android version is currently in development. It is on schedule for the end of September.
How's the development going for the Android version? My wife bought a cheap Samsung for me and I know they're full of vulnerabilities, so I'm waiting on this release.
We are progressing well on there Android edition actually and will be close to the end of the month or early October as expected.
@Darren Williams Does Install Mode completely deactivate all protection or just some? Just asking cos I am recently having issues upgrading / uninstalling one soft (Heimdal PRO, now Thor Home) which does make some network changes (e.g. sets its own DNS server) so was just wondering if BFP general Windows / network protections could be responsible. If not, is there any way to completely disable BFP, other than installing (just to discount this possibility)? e.g. Tried Console>Windows>Restrictions>General Network Locked to Off and updating, but that doesn't seem to be it ...
