What settings are recommended NOT to use with PrivaZer? I only plan on using this once per month.

I would ignore the registry settings. Unlike most registry cleaners, you have no idea what Privazer will remove beforehand. Stick with Wise Registry Cleaner instead.

Has anyone here ever had any issue with Privazer registry cleaner? If so, what happened?

I unchecked registry cleaning here, there is no real benefit to cleaning a registry and plenty of risk.

I've tested the registry cleaner a few times without issues. It doesn't seem that aggressive. I, however, always backup the registry in case something goes south. But as Krusty said, you're better off without it.

    Hello,

    some points to consider:
    1. some internet traces are stored in the registry
    2. Shellbags are registry entries.
    3. You can always store registry changes made by PrivaZer, there is an option for that in PrivaZer
Some years ago, PrivaZer was built in a very aggressive way to clean the leftovers in the registry. That's no longer the case.

I updated Privazer to v3.0.51 and ran it's internet cleanup (with it set to delete all cookies). When that completed I ran CCleaner and when it analyzed what was left it showed 80 Firefox cookies and 2 Firefox Internet History files left behind. I'm not sure why Privazer is not deleting these files.

For those of you who are Ccleaner users, the latest 5.45 has been recalled because of serious bugs. they recommend reverting to the previous 5.44 pro version. Free users on Insider builds of win10 are SOL as that version may corrupt your system if you use it to get rid of the windows.old folder (use MS' "disk cleaner" instead). I am suffering withdrawal symptoms and using Privazer donor's edition and 'Privacy Eraser' for now. CCleaner supports 'is aware of the problem' and will correct them in an upcoming version 'real soon now'. (that's a Microsoftian phrase meaning 'whenever we get around to it.)

(some of the Ccleaner bugs they are 'aware of' include, but not limited to, not cleaning ms edge stuff, not working from context menus, and not working on auto at startup. The windows.old bug was fixed in the recalled 5.45.)

Hello... addressing this to the PrivaZer Team.
I mentioned this issue before #1701 but, don't think it was addressed. Just before PrivaZer begins to clean the MFT the app flashes the message "Unable to clean up INDEX_ALLOCATION attributes in MFT". Although some of them do seem to disappear, many of them are leftovers from months ago. Re-running PrivaZer after cleanup shows the same entries as were preciously found. I have been able to eliminate the 'sensitive' ones which I was concerned about by using other software and manually deleting them but, if this is a viable 'feature' of your software, it seems reasonable to expect it to work as advertised. I realize that this is probably not a big issue to most users and I really do love your program and use it quite often.

PrivaZer Team: I really enjoy your product. Keep up the great work!

I'm having an issue with PrivaZer v3.0.51. I'm using Windows 7. PrivaZer seems to not shutdown or restart the PC properly after cleaning anymore - PC crashes. It worked fine until I installed the latest Windows 7 update (around 8/14/1:cool:. That Windows 7 update didn't work properly so I uninstalled it. Now, this version of PrivaZer (above) isn't working correctly. I rolled back to the previous version I had (v3.0.4:cool:. I'm checking it now to see if it works (closes) properly as before. Has anyone else seen this issue? Thanks!

May I suggest something. It will likely not solve that issue for you, but you never know.

I've run across something similar and thru trial and error I took to doing a full disk Defrag whereby if the defragger is good enough, moves some of those sector/files (MFT) just enough that when complete, PrivaZer finally cleans up that residue. I just assume sometimes they get stuck in place or skipped over for whatever reason, but a defrag seems to unlatch stragglers like that for me. I'm on Windows 8.1 if that helps any.

After the latest Windows 10 update, my system freezes upon running a scan with the latest Donor's version. Seems to hang once it hits the Index(ing) portion of the cleanup.

Yeah, doesn't seem to help. Still use DiskTrix UltimateDefrag on occasion to defrag/move the MFT and other meta files when they get fragmented. This issue with PrivaZer is not consistent. Sometimes it will get most of the index entries, sometimes just gives up and leaves them all. Not a big concern really. Just like to have the system as squeaky clean as possible.

OK, it was just something for you to try. Am happy to hear i'm not the only one who takes advantage of the feature-rich DiskTrix Ultimate Defrag. Isolating groups and even individual files/sectors is not so time consuming and really improves disk performance when you have a plan going on.

I admit I not looked close at good a job PrivaZer is doing in awhile with Recuva or other tools since it for the better part of it's runs cleans up what I expect for gains in speed and snappiness.

Hi, please check to see if you are TOTALLY cleaning, Saved Searches

Win 8.1 here, & it seems they get saved by the OS, even though i did NOT ask them to be saved.

Open PrivaZer and click on the top right where it shows the version > See Updates History > Delete.

Thanks, never used that before, non-intuitive that controls aren't grouped together.
