I have read it is good but you have to register? Do you have to stay logged in to your registration and can you use a made up once off email? Or can someone suggest a good free av with no ads toolbars etc that would do an old laptop
just requires a sign up, and initial login. after that you stay logged in. but good idea to save your login details somewhere in case you need to reinstall
When you register. you can disable "Display notifications with special offers" (ADs). But BD free has gone heavy lately (600-700MB RAM). FortiClient and Tencent PC Manager (Bitdefender based) are pretty light.
https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...-printers-enables-government-tracking.380823/ is that a bad thing?
Might depend for each individual. I understand that AVs require some level of "tracking" in order to function properly and protect me. For example https scanning, they need to know what website I visited in order to protect me from possible threats. Tracking via printers doesn't, in my opinion, enhance the services the government should provide to its citizens.
oh i see what you mean. I meant tracking for advertising.there is really no need to be logged in to an av imo. no real free if they want my email. they are using it to make money somehow
