Is it best to quarantine a threat or to block it from execution?

    I know some AVs have both as an option for detection, I am not sure which to use, I have my eye on 2 AVS (not sure which to go with atm) with this as a setting for both of them, which would be best?

    You want to quarantine the threats so that they are removed.

    not so simple, it depends at what stage the infection is detected. The OP gave us no details.
    if blocked during download or in USB it is better, if quarantined because already in the system, i would change AV lol. A decent AV shouldn't let a malware be on the HDD.

    I didn't want to say which ones because I know A vs B isn't allowed, dang forgot to mention this is real time, not scanning the HDD.
