    From the FAQ: https://www.glasswire.com/faq/

So the firewall functionality has been removed from the free version with v2.0, and you just get a free network monitor after the trial expires.

Glad I grabbed the lifetime deal before they went all subscription with the v2.0 release! :)

39, 69 and 99 dollars per year? That is quite overpriced.

$39 for the Basic plan wouldn't be too bad if that covered 2 PCs. But I agree that the 3 PC Pro plan is too steep at $69 per year. And I cannot imagine an individual really needing the 10 PC Elite plan, unless they are a support professional, in which case it could probably be charged off as a business expense.

Agree. This new pricing model won't work for them.

Even $19 for 1, and $39 for up to 3 would generate more revenue.

It's very useful, but not $69/year useful, LOL!!! I think many would like to be able to at least cover one desktop + one laptop with the same license ...

Hopefully they will figure that out. It's still all new to them.

    What a bunch of (^%$.
Asking to upgrade to "elite" WTF?
Already said it was a spy, now a money vacuum.
Good luck with your pretty program. Beauty will cost Man or machine.

Should have figured GW so closely knit with FB/Google and Twitt's o_Oo_O

    So called, Life-time license.

I’m happy to admit that I’m a victim of this overpriced product.

It gave me too much of a flashback of my once loved Sygate Firewall.

I can afford the cost, which is around the same as my subscription to Malwarebytes, but would like an option to buy it outright as is.

As I no longer participate in Win 10 or Win 8.1 updates, it is the perfect companion to Malwarebytes, Sandboxie and backups with Macrium Reflect; as I’m now on my own…

Disappointed that this is a subscription service. I'm currently looking for a software firewall to compliment my setup. This (as good as it looks) seems way overpriced. Guess I'll keep an eye on it.. hopefully they have a lifetime license option again in the future.

There are no products anymore, only a service.

    Just like Win10.

    +1
Fortunately I availed myself of an Elite lifetime offer not so long ago.

I like GW, but no way I would pay these amounts for annual subscriptions.

Overall I am very satisfied with this GlassWire Pro product, which I was able to purchase with the lifetime deal shortly before it became a subscription plan. Their support seems to be very responsive to community feedback, and there are frequent updates and bug fixes provided.

My only criticism would be for the decision to offer a subscription only model. I understand why that model may work for an anti-malware program, for example, that requires daily signature updates.

But a firewall program doesn't need daily updates. It falls into a class of applications that can, and should, be provided with perpetual licenses, with the option to upgrade or subscribe for ongoing support and maintenance fixes. In that case, you can buy the program once, and use it until it dies, if you wish. Paying for support or ongoing maintenance updates should be optional. The software shouldn't shut down or revert to demo mode if you stop paying.

The poster child for this business plan move is Adobe and their Creative Cloud plan. I use Photoshop and a few other Adobe programs, but I have declined their subscription plan since day one, on the principle that I don't want any software that stops working if I don't keep paying.

If you give me both options, I am likely to remain a loyal user, as long as your product provides value to me. But subscription only? No way!

Agree entirely. Feels like they have cash flow problems and are looking for a sustainable model. But they have made a mistake IMO.

Hopefully they rather offer the 'product' again, and at a more reasonable price to generate more sales and revenue.

Wouldn't want to see the demise of GW ...

Agreed, reminded me of the way Hex-Rays license IDA:

The IDA license doesn't expire: once it has been granted, provided the license is not revoked for non-payment, piracy or other licensing breaches, the software is yours to use for as long as you see fit. Your ability to get support and updates is limited in time and must eventually be renewed through support plans/upgrades. Your initial IDA license comes with a year of support and upgrades.

Simply removing access to a product someone has payed good money for doesn't sit well with me, I'm not looking to rent glasswire for a year.

In any case, I'm probably more interested in GlassWires monitoring/logging features than it's firewall capabilities (although they'd be nice) as I already filter all outbound traffic via IPFire. I guess I can still use the free version to help inform decisions on what access to grant and to ensure windows firewall/IPFire rules are working correctly. I believe monitoring traffic is one of the few things that isn't restricted after the 7 day trial?

Although a bit heavy(as firewall) for my taste, its a good product. But I can't see many people paying that much yearly price for a Firewall+Network monitor.
