I am very happy with VDS ... BUT ... the price has gone up by 50% in one year.
I am torn between this excellent concept and my wallet. With 5 machines VDS is getting very expensive compared to pro BD.

Dan's response times are very good, it would be very helpful if the PDF documentation was updated, especially some details on "Rules"
The official VD web site is very quiet and too many unanswered threads.

The calendarofupdate site is not the official website, if you need support use the webform at the official website or email to Dan.

I know what you mean, to me VS is a bit too complex, EXE Radar is way easier to understand, when it comes to understanding what exactly is being blocked.

I believe the AV in VS is a bit more advanced since it makes use of machine learning, bu I'm not sure.

it's AI is sadly over aggressive and inaccurate, it will constantly give you false positives till the point you will entirely ignore it when deciding and will rely on VT score. or at least that's how it was for me.

This has drastically improved in the latest version, very few alerts and more flexibility in configuration exactly to address this issue.

alerts were never the issue, i actually liked them, the issue was the amount of false positives by the AI. Signed, 0 VT Score and AI marks it as unsafe...

Haven't had them yet on this version, so can't confirm the reported behaviour.

Using VS Free and only flags I get are during installs and I forget to disable. Yes, it is aggressive. I love it as it is and the price is right. I realize the free version would not provide the same experience for other more advanced users.

I recently tried VS again, after a few months. I made a fresh install of v. 433.
At first it was working fine, but the next morning, it complained about no internet (although my other apps had internet) and it kept prompting me again and again for processes that I had already whitelisted. I ended up with several duplicate entries in the whitelist for these processes.
    Anyone understand what went wrong?

Wasn't the new feature Security posture supposed to help reduce alerts. Have you tried it?

I was getting an acceptable amount of new alerts. The problem here was rather the alerts for processes that I had already whitelisted.

If you want an answer, I would either report the issue directly to Dan or on the forum he participates.

I'm not using VS currently but if already whitelisted items show up I reckon you need to enable custom folders and add the problem folder locations.
