I use Crucial Storage Executive on my Crucial SSD and it's "Over Provisioning" feature which sets aside a portion "10%" of the C partition for drive health and performance. This is hidden and marked as unallocated space. A recent CSE update would not take so i uninstalled and re-installed CSE (newest version). However, before uninstalling, i forgot to reset/turn off Over Provisioning and now i'm left with this 25.62GB marked as unallocated space that was used prior to uninstalling by CSE. I would like to set and use Over Provisioning again but not use another 25GB of space. I would like to add the unallocated space back to my C partition first before setting Over Provisioning again. Do not know how to do this as my search says this space must be on the direct right of the C partition. Any help would be great!

    tobacco,

That's easy. Move/Slide the Recovery partition to the end of the drive. Resize the C: drive to remove the Unallocated space. This can't be done in Disk Management. GParted can do this.

And indeed it did :thumb:. Wasn't able to get to this until this afternoon so sorry for the late reply. Was somewhat worried while in GParted that "Move" wasn't a separate option but accomplished by moving the "Numbers" around. All this extra work because i forgot to reset/undo a setting before an uninstall. I better remember this next time though!

Always appreciate your contributions on this site Brian. Thank You Sir!

    Great.

I did something similar today with a UEFI system. I had

    Recovery 550 MB
    ESP 300 MB
    MSR 16 MB
    Win10 40000 MB
    other partitions

I wanted to resize the ESP to 400 MB. The MSR can't be resized or slide/moved so...

    Resize Win10 to 39900 MB
Slide Win10 to the start of the next partition. (the Slide took 90 seconds) This puts 100 MB of Free Space in front of Win10
    Delete MSR
Resize ESP to 400 MB. Now there is 16 MB of Free Space after ESP
Restore MSR from an image to this Free Space
