"...A Criminal Gang Used a Drone Swarm To Obstruct an FBI Hostage Raid...

...counter surveillance of law enforcement agents is the fastest-growing way that organized criminals are using drones...

Some criminal organizations have begun to use drones as part of witness intimidation schemes: they continuously surveil police departments and precincts in order to see 'who is going in and out of the facility and who might be co-operating with police,'...

Drones are also playing a greater role in robberies and the like. Beyond the well-documented incidence of house break-ins, criminal crews are using them to observe bigger target facilities, spot security gaps, and determine patterns of life: where the security guards go and when....

...criminal groups have begun have used drones as part of elaborate smuggling schemes,..

Nefarious use of drones is likely to get worse before it gets better, according to several government officials who spoke on the panel. There is no easy or quick technological solution...

The most recent version of the FAA reauthorization bill contains two amendments that could help the situation,...One would make it illegal to “weaponize” consumer drones....The other — and arguably more important — amendment would require drones that fly beyond their operators’ line of sight to broadcast an identity allowing law enforcement to track and connect them to a real person..."

Drone wars! I can imagine networks of drones, defending each other. Fast fighter drones, and small kamikaze drones. Drones trailing fiber to tangle other drones. Chaff drones.

Here, the government are the bad guys, right this moment, the regime is using drones to track protesters movements in the city of Masaya. They have been using two every night this past week. This videos were taken a few minutes ago.

The Army is buying microwave cannons to take down drones in mid-flight
The high-powered microwave system would be mounted to an aircraft

"U.S. powerless to fight drone attacks, top official says

The Department of Homeland Security is pressing Congress for more powers to stop malicious drones that could threaten the United States. Intelligence officials are increasingly concerned about the use of drones by terrorists and drug cartels...

DHS wants Congress to give it the power to "redirect, disable, disrupt control of, seize, or confiscate, without prior consent" a drone that "poses a threat." DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen warned in a speech in early September that drones are now 'a major national security concern in our homeland.' "

There’s No Real System to Counter Rogue Drones
As flying robots proliferate, there’s a growing risk of accident or attack. And the U.S. is still a long way from being prepared

When you can’t jam a UAV signal, drone-on-drone violence will do just fine
