Comodo people have made their AV really light

 

Blackfog Privacy. A really innovative product.

 

Linux Mint Mate on one machine.

 

Appguard Enterprise on all machines, loving it.

 

Ever since swearing off AV's forever (always had issues with junk infiltrating regardless of so called protections) and integrating third party protection my systems are boring even when turning malware loose on it locally. Kick on Windows Defender and shoot, malware is non-existent period

And that's not even running SUA or other whatevers, just in the siggy below.

 

@EASTER for you and me, WD is more a "convenience" tool that a needed one.

Back to Windows 10. Ran Kubuntu for a couple of weeks but could never quite warm to it. Fonts still look poor to me and a kernel upgrade borking my wifi was the last straw.

 

After applying the patch Tuesday Windows Update Comodo messed up, so I replaced it with Panda Dome Free and NoVirusThanks OSArmor:

I've just moved to CCAV (again) and it's very light. When I have tried it in the past I wasn't too impressed and reverted to CFW, but this time it seems a lot lighter. With the sandbox firewall control it's an easier alternative to CFW. TBH, it's probably a matter of time before I return to the fold of my high priestess, Meghan aka Cruelsister. Even using CCAV I feel like I'm being unfaithful. I'm on 17134.112.

 

I was using CCAV too, but I found out that it slowed down my browser, so I moved to CAV (CIS without FW), but the Windows Update messed it up (long time to open the settings and freezes when trying to apply the modifications)

 

I found that, but not now. Based on using a page load timer, I reckon it's as good as CFW, if not better.

Maybe it depends on everyone's PC, I tried CCAV v1.18.450386.723 on Win10 home 64bit (v. 1803, build 17134.81) and it slowed down Chromium a lot.
Panda is extremely lightweight, I have noticed CPU and disk I/O usage only during manual scanning and I can't feel any slowdown (boot up, browsing, app launching, shut down)

Windows Firewall Control, Sandboxie, and the newest member, OSArmor beta. Sometimes I don't know if my system is clean or some benign malware is hiding somewhere.

 

W10 Pro, no AV (Defender completely disabled), ReHIPS and its isolated browsing, ESET monthly browser based scan.

 

You can scan your system with Emsisoft Emergency Kit.

 

Recently added OSArmor 1.4 ver. test 70 + SysHardener 1.5
My machine is running a bit lighter with these.

I did a speedtest of CFW+WD, WD+WF, and CCAV+WF. I found page loading with each of the three options much of a sameness, but not so with speed-tests.

I used speedtest.net and chose my ISP's local server, which is about 6miles/10km away line-of-sight. It was 9.30-10.00am here so not rush-hour, and I closed the browser after every test. I used wireless and ethernet connections, but my ethernet is via usb using a UGREEN model 20265.
