Glad to see these included. I find it a shame however that individual components can no longer be disabled; I have no need for IM Anti-Virus and Mail Anti-Virus.
Another cynical attempt/approach to get the user to upgrade to the paid version...by saying iti s all or nothing unless one pays. Personally would prefer to not have the functionality that I do not need rather than have it foist on one, and then go 'fill' the gaps with alternative apps.
I agree, but if performances are not affected, it's not a big deal for me. Can anyone give a feedback about this please? By the way, this is the same approach of VoodooShield, for example
I think for most users they don't care about this settings, it just works out of the box and will be very effective.
Don't get me wrong, the protection Kaspersky Free offers is really very good, I'd just like the option of disabling unwanted components.
Now this is a keeper, the user will just be interested in best protection. Apart from here, who will be bothered about settings.
KFA 2019 has ridiculously strong protection and will completely kill the commercial stand alone anti virus products. I guess the market is changing as a result of Microsoft security improvements and this will bring about increasing diversification for competing Vendors paid products.
Those modules are not related with system watcher and network attack blocker and they are only available in paid products
Yes to both your questions. The only time I ever had problems uninstalling Kaspersky was on an already damaged Windows installation.
Used the removal tool to remove Kaspersky Free 2018 and did a clean install of the latest version. so far so gd on my daily pc. no noticeable perf issue. Edit: Spoke too soon.. experiencing internet slowness issue with every site/page taking longer to load with resolving host on every site/page i visit.. Already tried clearing DNS cache and changing to google dns but it doesn't resolve this resolving host issue on every site.. Any help?
Have you tried disabling script injection? Also "Do not scan encrypted connection" to prevent KAV hijacking certificates.
I have just tried Kaspersky free 19 with these settings disabled and it seems lightweight. Boot time hadn't changed and everything looks smooth.
Yes, but how many people are still trusting Kaspersky, that's the question. It really does seem to be a pretty good product. Yes, very bad move.
Considering, that KAV has lost the appeal in US, this is probably the result. People would not trust to buy it, but who would refuse a good protection for free?! US privacy laws are not as strict as in EU, so KAV will be free, but users will pay with their data. KAV took the aggressive approach just like Avast, since it pays off well. Similar to uninstallable network protocols in 1803.
