Mozilla is capitalizing on the recent fears over Facebook privacy and data by creating a new Firefox extension that stops Facebook from tracking your online habits. The new “Facebook Container” creates a blue-colored browser tab that isolates your Facebook session from the rest of your web activity. It’s designed to prevent Facebook from collecting what sites you visit, and targeting you with ads and other messages.

Firefox 59.0.3 fixes Windows 10 April 2018 compatibility issue
Firefox users who run the stable version of the web browser and plan on updating to the April 2018 Update version of Windows 10 in the coming days may want to make sure the web browser is upgraded to version 59.0.3 to avoid compatibility issues.

While Firefox will run on machines running the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, users may run into compatibility issues on websites that they open in the browser when running Windows 10 version 1803.

According to a bug report on Mozilla's bug tracking website Bugzilla, sites that use specific code throw the error message "invalid regular expression flag". Another site threw a "fatal error" on load. The errors are only thrown if Firefox 59.0.2 or earlier that run on Windows 10 version 1803 systems.

Firefox is not affected on earlier versions of Windows. The issue affects only Firefox, Stable, ESR and Developer Edition, and not other browsers such as Chrome or Edge according to Brian Duke who reported the issue to Mozilla.

I tried to replicate the issue in Pale Moon and the error was not thrown on a Windows 10 version 1803 machine.

Mozilla is following through with previously announced plans to add sponsored content to new tabs in Firefox 60.

The browser maker revealed in January that Firefox beta users would start to see "an occasional sponsored story" in the Pocket recommendations section of new tabs.

The feature was shown to a "small portion of US users" initially but with Firefox 60, scheduled for general release on May 9, it will go "fully live" for US users.

Mozilla plans to release Firefox 60 Stable and Firefox 60 ESR later today. The new version of the web browser moves the Firefox ESR channel from version 52.x to 60.x. That's a major move considering that Firefox 52.x is a pre-Firefox 57 release that still supports legacy add-ons.

Firefox 60.0 ESR does not support legacy add-ons anymore and there are other fundamental differences between 52.x and 60.x such as dropped support for Windows XP or Vista, and no support for Java or Silverlight anymore.

Work on WebExtensions APIs continues and Mozilla added or improved several APIs that Firefox add-on developers may use to create extensions.

Note: I was asked to reboot the Windows PC to complete the Firefox 60 installation. This did not happened in the past.

Firefox 60 is starting a lot faster than 59 here. Also, the content sandbox level and effective sandbox level have increased from 4 to 5. (Windows)
Level 5 is not documented here though:

Yes, I'm seeing "5" as the default value in "security.sandbox.content.level". Threads display as "low integrity" in Process Explorer. How does this compare with Chrome where processes display as "untrusted"?.
