Setting for "Prohibit app from running in the background" keeps turning back on after computer restart, is there any fix for this?

I hate that Windows keeps enabling it.

by "turning back on".... you mean red toggles green on machine restart?
FWIW ~ my "Prohibit app from running in the background" is green and remains green.

Microsoft bunch are such dip sticks. It's pitiful they want so much network tie-in and burn up precious resources on tasks etc. and relay back to their servers etc.

O&O Shut Up I hated to have to use it but when I did, my filechangealarm app quieted right down to nothing (it logs/alerts w/audio) all the transfers of internal data to various storage areas spread throughout folders on the O/S. And cooled down my CPU. Blasted resource hogs.

@Pirate_fin- Someone will likely weigh in and if not and it's an issue O&O is sure to add it to their repertoire soon enough. Simply send them a complaint/request.

When i put it on Green=apps running in backgound disabled, it goes Red=apps allowed to run in backgroung after restart.

FWIW ~ my OOSU10 1.6.1396 is run from Admin user account with OOSU10.ini at same location.
Maybe, Undo all changes (factory settings) + restart. Then set OOSU10 to your preference + restart.....as test.
Um, do you run Fast Startup On or Off.

Fast Startup Off and i will test restoring factory settings to OOSU10 when i get home.

...and, as test....can you "Create a system restoration point" from Actions tab.

Tested and didn't work, all other settings are saved, but "prohibit apps running in the background" is not.

I sent email to O&O and they are investigating it.

Obviously the 1803 is a typo, Redstone 5 is 1809

    Can you do it manually?
Windows key plus the Break key to open System Properties. Then click advanced settings -> System protection tab -> Create.
