    A question, are you guys able to install this tool sandboxed? When I click on "install now", nothing happens.

    Hi Rasheed. I had no problem installing it sandboxed. You know the procedure, get a new default settings sandbox (and block access to your personal files and folders).

    Rasheed/bjm, this is what I see immediately after clicking Install now. The installer runs for a few seconds, the program installs "but you might be under the impression that nothing happened", as it closes without the UI opening up.

    1.jpg

    If you got to see the screen above, then you need to reopen the program via Sandboxies Start menu. When I do that, the program auto updates immediately after doing so (see screen below).

    2.jpg

    After the update is over, the screen telling you to write the license or to continue with trial opens up.

    3.jpg

    After clicking to continue with trial, this is what I see.

    The program installs and works well sandboxed in my W10. You could also try this other program.

    I knew it, I figured you guys had not realized the program had actually installed sandboxed successfully even though it closed. :)

    I think it might be because of sandbox corruption, it's time to clean, because it really doesn't work, and I get errors quite frequently when installing apps.

    I have the same problem, so there's definitely something up with this app.

    Yes I did, but no files are installed on my system. It doesn't respond to clicks on Install Now and Customize. It also doesn't try to make any outbound connections, so me blocking this can't be the problem, I suppose.

    Good to know. 4K Video Downloader doesn't always work correctly, so that's why I looked for a new one.

    I did not try.... beyond 'Install Now' + "reopen the program via Sandboxies Start menu" > #4482.

    Edit: just now, tried Customize + Install Now + Continue Trial + outbound connection + Options + Open downloads folder.

    So, you never get to see something like what appears in the first screen I posted after clicking Install now?

    If you do, after that screen closes, terminate all programs in Sandboxie, and reopen DL Now via Sandboxies Start menu. You can also create a desktop shortcut to run it.

    I left the program installed in the sandbox, is a decent program. 4K is good also but I think DL might be better.

    Sandboxie beta 5.25.1 has been released. It fixes Registry hive issue in W10 Insider build when moving container from default location.

    5.25.1 works great in my W7. I updated W7 a few hours ago, and have been using my W7 all afternoon, as in W10, cant find nothing wrong with 5.25.1 in this system either. :cool:

    Hi guest. My Windows explorer sandbox settings are nothing fancy (they really dont need to be). I allow all programs to run, forbid all programs from having access to the internet and block programs running in the sandbox from having access to my personal files and folders. I set the sandbox to delete on closing and Quick recover to the Desktop, and that's pretty much it.

    No problems here too. Sandboxie has really evolved through the years and seems to adapt quite well to the frequent changes of Win 10. One issue I had for years, namely attaching a file to my emails would systematically crash Gmail when sandboxed, it is now working well. I would say that SB and Shadow Defender are definitely the most important assets for my security, and unsurprisingly they have lasted a long time whereby many other programs bit the dust (SB 14 years and SD 11 years I believe).

    Sandboxie 5.25.1 on Windows 10 x64 v1709 16299.371.

    After a reboot I am getting the Sandboxie update check and can't seem to get rid of it no matter which option I check, so I can't even get to settings.
    If I check 'Now', it tells me an update check is already in progress ...

    I got this recently also with a previous version of Sandboxie as well but it just went away. Could be another security soft, but haven't isolated anything.

    Anyway I can prevent it, or even force off the update check, which I don't really need.

    If you are clicking Never and Sandboxie is still checking for updates or prompting you about it, try adding the settings below to your Sandboxie Config file under User settings and get rid of (to replace) whatever is appearing there related to SbieCtrl_UpdateCheckNotify and SbieCtrl_NextUpdateCheck:

    SbieCtrl_NextUpdateCheck=1524443112
    SbieCtrl_UpdateCheckNotify=n

    Reboot and test. I think that should do it. Thats what I have, I haven't seen any Sandboxie prompt about updates in about 9 years :D.
