You should put it in "My filters".

I'm trying to block meta refreshes globally. Per site works fine. What am I doing wrong?

    Code:
    *##^meta[http-equiv="refresh"]

    no, why?

i can put a lot of lists into ublock, luckily ublock sorts it internally, but this time 557 of 644 is how many of >300.000 entries?

I think gorhill is going to stop support for palemoon later in the year.

Try to install the latest stable xpi version:

    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases

add this extension (but it seems compatible only with ver 27):

    https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/ublock0-updater/

if it does not work install the modified build for XP compiled by Roytam1:

The latter I didn't know, seems to be composed mostly of cosmetic filters which I don't need. Cosmetic filter just adds up memory usage and don't enhance security nor privacy. If you're not comfortable with these kind of ads it's better to write your own filter for the site you use. The former is well known, but it's not updated frequently.

I'd say piling up many filters is not good as it'll cause more FPs and worse performance. I even disabled Peter Low's as it's FP prone. Even Easylist is FP prone, the thing is most ppl don't notice these subtle FPs, e.g. subcategory shown upon category buttons when you hover mouse over them won't be shown. In bad sites it may be only way to directly go to the subcategories.

I maintain my own blacklist on dynamic rule, which could be called medium+ mode or sth, and it turned out that most major blacklists take several days to weeks to block new trackers, and other trackers may never be blocked such as those whitelisted by DMCA request. I also found most MA analytics are not blocked in major blacklists, while they clearly claim they analyze user behavior to increase the site's revenue (some of them even record your behavior to later replay it). Some may be blocked by general rule but most are not, so I blocked them tho it's not necessary when you use medium mode. I don't need discount coupon when it 'thinks' I'm in doubt to purchase.

cosmetic filters dont only remove annoying ads, in most cases ads are bundled with some kind of script, iframes or (external) cookies.
loading an ad which sets a cookie is concerning your privacy for sure.

but it has benefit concerning speed to test the own filters in "my filters" against used lists

question: is it possible to allow a certain class on a certain site without deactivating the cosmetic filter?

Besides filterlists.com where else can I find custom filters (especially against phishing) to add to UBO?

    Thanks
