I guess that it depends where you are. In most of the EU, this is probably OK. But I recall advice from a friend in Mexico. After an accident, if you can, run away. Because once the police arrive, they will likely believe whoever has the whitest skin and/or the most money.
Some years ago a friend of mine was driving home from work after a night shift, she fell asleep at the wheel, went off the road and down a slope where the car flipped multiple times and ended up in bushes that couldnt be seen from the road. She lay there with multiple severe injuries including a broken back, trapped by the car wreckage for several days before people realized she was missing.
Unfortunately and with embarrassment this is true most of the time. I've suffered such treatment first hand, I'm white so they think I'm rich. Stupid guys.
That is the reason why you might want to buy dashcam. In some countries it is illegal to leave people injured in car crash without help.
Well, I'm pretty white too. But I didn't have much money, and wasn't a citizen. And I was driving my friend's car. So he could just claim that it had been stolen.
Hmm perhaps not then, it does sound like someone's joke. Instead it looks more like 'Big brother' - typical of the EU.
