Its likely Sandboxie 5.24 will be released tomorrow. The plan is to release it before Tuesdays Windows updates. I am sure feedback, tonight or early tomorrow morning, would be appreciated by Curt and the rest of the team of developers. On my end, 5.24 appears to be working properly (W7/W10).

Note: If you are using W10, for better compatibility between Sandboxie and tomorrows Windows updates, do the update to 5.24 before updating Windows.

Updated to 5.24 this morning. No sign yet of Any Microsoft updates yet, but my laptop has been off this evening. I have sandboxes and malwarebytes working well together. It feels quite a good combination.

SB 5.24 seems to work well on Win 10 (64 bit) after updating version 1709 with KB4088776 to OS Build 16299.309

Good to know, Wolfman . I can also confirm, 5.24 is working great in W7 32 bits.

I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of innovation. I got zero response from developers about my auto-sandbox idea. And it also bugs me that you can't deny access to all except certain folders.

Had they responded it would probably have been no. Just wasn't any interest in it. I looked at it Rasheed, and I wouldn't have said it was innovation, I just didn't see it fitting in Sandboxie's core purpose

@Peter2150 Is there any point in renaming this thread? (I ask because you have moderator-powers). It has become a general discussion thread about Sandboxie and not the "Aquired by Invincea"-topic. Hence, nearly all posts in this thread have become off-topic per definition.

FYI: I was having a lot of problems running the latest version of Vivaldi browser in Sandboxie updating to SB 5.24 64bit fixes it.

They could have at least responded, and Comodo has been offering this for years, it's nothing new. To everyone else, is it true that the latest Opera does not work correctly when installed inside the sandbox? I've noticed that Opera settings and all websites don't get displayed correctly.

I am sure knowing those guys are really busy, they probably watch and if they don't see any interest it's better to let it die quietly. You do have a choice apparently in that if you want you can use Comodo

    Anyone can reproduce this issue?

    - Win10 home x64
    - Sandboxie 5.24
    - Office 2016 pro Plus

Excel doc opened in sandboxie doesn't display its content.

guest, read this recent post by Barb (and the links). I am not using Office, I cant tell you much but some users report in those links issues like yours. Try Barbs workaround. Look for Syrinx workaround. Try also as a workaround, navigating to Excel files using a sandboxed Windows explorer.

    Hi Bo

I am not a chrome user, but I need to help a friend setup SBIE for Chrome. Any guidance you can offer.

I just think it's not polite. But I already know why developers not responded, it's probably because of the way SBIE is designed. It would require a rewrite, they said the same when I asked for a feature to block data access to a whole drive except for certain folders. And BTW, Comodo hasn't implemented it in the way I want to. It will only auto-sandbox apps that are not recognized as safe.

I think the best way for handling Chrome with Sandboxie is to set things up simple. This is specially so at the beginning when someone starts using Sandboxie and is not familiar with Sandbox settings and Sandboxie in general.

Last week I installed Sandboxie for a friend who uses Chrome and all was fine. All I changed in settings was set the sandbox to delete on closing and added access to bookmarks. He is visiting here so I have had access to his computer for the last week or so and there's no issue.

Tell your friend about doing updates outside the sandbox and that whenever Chrome tries to update while running sandboxed, to close Chrome and delete the sandbox, do the update outside the sandbox, then go back to the sandbox.

Personally, I am very happy Sandboxie has pretty much remained as it was the day Tzuk left. Usually when someone new takes over a company or whatever position, they make changes just for the sake of changes and to make their personal impact visible. I am glad that hasn't happened here. Sandboxie today is still the same old Sandboxie. I dont take for granted that Sandboxie will always work perfectly well with all applications I run, I realize it takes a lot of work just maintaining Sandboxie for working properly with most common programs that are widely used. Thats a big load that takes a lot of work. I tip my hat to Invincea for keeping and maintaining Sandboxie as strong as ever and not derailing by bringing changes to the UI or new features that have nothing to do with what Sandboxie is..

I'm also thankful for all the work that has been done by Invincea, but a bit more innovation would be nice. I feel the same about SpyShelter, it's a decent tool but developers didn't really make it any better when it comes to features and GUI. And it also sucks that Opera doesn't seem to work correctly when installed in the sandbox, but will report this in the SBIE forum.
