It looks like Dan should change the app name to BuggyDoo Shield
I wonder what people would have said if this had happened to another security app o_O

Ouch! That's a bit harsh. Can only presume you're not a fan of Voodooshield.

Please let me know what security apps you use are 100% free of bugs?

At least the author of VS cares enough to fix any reported issues promptly and doesn't let their users wait several days, weeks or even years to fix them.

That's true, but I haven't seen the same understanding for other vendors that also try their best to offer a good and reliable SW.
    One example? Comodo

you seem to forget these are Beta builds. I would like to see you state an other security tool that has this many new builds in a span of a day.

Not all are betas, but I got your point an I agree.
Binisoft WFC gets updates quite often, but I read some concerns about its reliability exactly because of the quick updates.
I tried VS in the past and I like the concept, but I removed it because of the high FP rate

Don't forget Dan is doing all the work on his own, he has in the past had help but they never seemed to work out so he is only one person and is very personable! I have been using VS since this thread started back in Dec 2011 and I like how VS works and the small bugs that come around oh well he fixes them.

Beta = Better bring a backup (just to be sure). If i test a beta im aware of this and just load the backup when all goes south.

The reason might be that Comodo at times has been slow at best to respond or fix reported bugs where as Voodoo Dan is straight on to bug fixes and requests in a blink.

I have found the final releases incredibly stable and that's across a few systems with different versions of windows. Which is in no small part down to the Beta testers and all their bug reporting.

Hat`s off to Voodoo Dan and the Beta testers:cool:

    Regards Eck :)

To be fair, Dan... You know I love VS and your support has always been top-notch. But can I say this? You have been posting new builds in the "VoodooShield v4 STABLE Thread". Personally, I didn't realise I was still using beta versions.

    Cheers,
    Krusty

Agree with you on this....the fanboys of VS keep defending it, but guess that's their choice. I just don't want to waste time and effort on it myself.

Me too. I’ve been using VS since V2 and presently using the latest 4.22 version without any problems at all. :thumb:

Bit out of touch and this may have been mentioned before. I am using v4.15 and just did an "update check" and it tells me I am using the latest version of VS. I see that the stable release from the website shows 4.22 and was just wondering if this was a known issue.

I would uninstall v4.15 and clean install 4.22. This version is pretty stable on my machines.

Have done. Never found much wrong with 4.15 so hoping for good things from 4.22.

Why do you recommend an uninstall as opposed to installing over the existing version? I did the latter without any issues.

used to be an issue where VS would have insane CPU usage due to old files leftover from previous installations.
    not really an issue nowadays

In this case mainly because @Cache would be skipping quite a few builds so I thought it better to have a clean install.
