" and get rid of those awful browser extensions maybe I will be back. For now, I have a few other av's up my sleeve that I am happy with." This is the singular reason that I have not used Norton for the past few years: Their asinine assertion that Edge is not compatible with their product, and customers should use IE instead; Chrome extensions that take up half the friggin browser window .......Et al.
One thing that bothers me with Norton Security is after I save all my firewall rules of what apps to allow or block, there is no way to save this in a config file like with some other AVs so I have to redo the settings all over again if I reinstall.
"Symantec stock tanks after warning its annual report may be delayed by probe Symantec shares plummeted roughly 20% on Thursday after the antivirus maker warned an internal investigation could delay its annual report. The plunge followed news that the audit committee of Symantec's board had launched an internal investigation into undescribed concerns raised by a former employee. The probe is being aided by independent counsel and other advisers, the company said in its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report..." https://www.cnet.com/news/symantec-stock-tanks-after-warning-annual-report-may-be-delayed-by-probe/
On the other forum, I see a few people talking about "SEPC", which I assume is Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud. Has anyone tried this for personal use?
Norton has effectively disappeared from consumer PCs in my country, and I hope it remains that way. Why anyone uses it in 2018 is beyond my understanding, this company is "more machine than man", in the words of the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi.
I don't want to start a new thread, and apologize if this is the wrong place- its been a while. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about Norton 2019 Premium. I am most interested in Norton Family; I know the AV has pros and cons but I am considering it for my daughter's notebook. I think the AV is capable enough for that, but I would like some input from real life usage of the suite from those that may have used it. Mostly system impact and usability of the suite as a whole but especially the Family component. She will use it mostly as a netbook. Its a Dell with 4gb memory that I will upgrade to 8gb.
Norton Family is no longer included with Norton Security, so you would need a separate subscription for that.
