Wise Anti Malware v1.1.5 beta (February 8, 2018) Announcement At the moment there is not much information about it available.
After looking into the installer: It is installing two kernel-drivers: WiseAntiMalWareRegMonitor.sys, WiseAntiMalWareProcessMonitor.sys and they are co-signed by Microsoft. So installing this application on a Secure Boot enabled system should work. Because i have seen these files: avupdate.exe (Updater for Avira Products) avgio.dll (On-access scan support for SDK) [...] i'm sure that are using SAVAPI (=Anti-malware SDK - by Avira) If someone is curious can install Wise Anti Malware and share the experience here
I installed it and when I ran it the malware scanner was disabled, but everything else was working. I was able to solve the problem, by exiting the program from the systray menu, and then opening it again. I've also has issues with inconsistent scan results and the program crashing. So right now, you may want to give this a miss. The user interface has similarities to 360 Total Security and Glarysoft's Malware Hunter, but the layout is not as close to 360's as Malware Hunter's UI is. When you run a scan from the initial Quick Check window, it lists the number of problems found in each category scanned, but there is no way to actually show the files and registry keys that were detected. I know that I always want to be able to see what will be cleaned, before removing anything. However, if you run scans from the Malware Scanner, System Cleaner, or Adware Cleaner tabs, you can actually view what was detected. When I run a scan from the Quick Check tab, four items were found for Malware Detection. But, when I ran a scan from the Malware Scanner, nothing was detected. I then ran another scan from the Quick Check tab. This time, nothing was detected, and when I ran one more scan, once again there was no malware detected. The adware cleaner, has serious issues with false positives. It detects everything in a folder of internet favorites on my desktop as being adware. I experienced the same issue with the beta of Wise AD Cleaner. In that case, I used Wise AD Cleaner's, included Support Center to report the issue to them. I got a reply, telling me to add the detected items to its ignore list. I replied, that they were indeed false positives and that the software needed to stop wrongly detecting them. I received no further replies. The registry cleaner has minor issues with false positives, just as Wise Registry Cleaner does. This is no good, but it certainly won't cause any major issues. I did not enable the real-time protection. But, as you can see in the screenshot below, it appears that there is no option to prompt for what action to take when a threat is detected. Also, the most it can check for definition updates is daily. For now, I'm going to uninstall it, as it is just too buggy.
Some PUPs were deleted, even though I never told Wise Anti Malware to delete anything and real-time protection was disabled. This would explain the variance in the malware scan results. The four items were no longer being detected, as they had been deleted or quarantined.

That is nice. Considering how buggy and slow Avira is, Wise might be a viable alternative, in time, just like Tencent is to Bitdefender.
So bottom line on this appears to be Not Ready for Prime Time at this point, I take it? I was gonna give it a try (cannot resist ) but I think I will resist - even if it is futile.

Can anything be better than Malwarebytes on the free level? Isn't the next Windows update supposed to have similar protection? Anyway, subscribing here to hear marciano222's test results.

this would be really useful if the avira sigs that is licensed wouldn't be so far behind (heard from 2 diff people that they tested avira licensed sigs and it's even more behind than avira free's sigs)
