I've been getting a few blocks along the lines of "No DNS entry detected. Unsafe connection blocked" etc, most of which seem false positives to me.

Does this upcoming change mean that these reports will stop, or lessen?

 

That one is because of the option called "Suspicious Address". Feel free to toggle that off. It is to stop the use of direct IP addresses with no domain name, a common method of disguising a threat vector, as it makes their life easier. If you do use direct IP's, for example for development purposes, then I would toggle this off. There should however be little reason for legitimate sites to use direct IP addresses anymore, hence why it's on by default.

Is there any known compatibility issues when using a VPN? Will BFP work when using a VPN?

VPN's should not have any impact on BlackFog because all you are doing is tunneling through another endpoint ultimately which should not bother it at all. Your perceived endpoint will just appear differently in the traffic statistics. The only thing that will affect it right now is that it is not enabled on IPv6 interfaces. This will be enabled on a subsequent release.

There is no way to close that pop up on your site to read more about your program. Time Marketing had a meeting with Development and Management me thinks.

 

That's strange, Krusty. I don't see any pop ups all all on that link.

 

Are you allowing JavaScript? If I don't allow anything in NoScript I don't see that pop up either.

 

Yup, JavaScript allowed (in Opera) and AdGuard turned off.

UPDATE. I've just tried that link in Chrome with AdGuard enabled and I do see the annoying pop up.

 

Scroll around a bit and move your mouse out of the window. In Firefox I see it when I move my mouse above the address bar.

 

Yes, i see the overlay too now. A little bit intrusive

 

Yeah, I see it in FF even with uBO / uM - and AdGuard.

I thought BFP was supposed to block ads... except on their own site perhaps.

 

Funny. Let me have a word to them and ask what it is suppose to do. I don't see it either....but I am sure they can change the triggers.

 

I've just tried this running Opera 51 and I can't get the pop up to appear whatever I do. However, it does appear in the way you describe if I try it in Chrome 64.

 

It actually should only appear one time in 6 months because it sets a cookie to not do it again for the same user. So that should explain how it is suppose to work. If you have cookies disabled perhaps that would explain why it keeps appearing.

 

I delete cookies each time my browser is closed - for privacy. I also use a Firefox extension called Temporary Containers.

 

I'm sorry but it shouldn't appear at all. How can viewers read up on your product when that is in the way and prevents them from doing so? There is the opportunity for users to download the product from your site without the need for such a pop-up.
