If Assange ever thought he could openly run a site like wikileaks and publish documents that exposed organised crime, (aka government), and NOT at the very least, get persecuted, he was very naive.

Except that isn't directly related to his arrest warrant. Sure, he is worried about being extradited to the US if he gets sent to Sweden. If he does get sent to the US he is in deep crap.

On the other hand he is a 'messenger' not a mole, if they prosecute him they should also prosecute all the newspapers which published the leaked information, his case juridically speaking is different from Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning...

He`s more a self publicizing ego maniac who at one time was given air time on Russian tv which I think says it all.

    Regards Eck:)

Actually I was confused. Sweden have dropped their investigation but he can still be arrested in the UK for breaking his bail conditions, which I guess means a trip to the US would almost certainly be on the cards.

Yes, he expects the minute the authorities get their hands on him the US will apply for extradition and he is probably right.

Yes this true, but what`s also true is other such people who break the law usually have to face the consquences.

Unfortunately when it comes to "white collar crime" whether or not you face the consequences depends on how much money you have and who you know.

Yes except in the States where (mostly) if you`ve done the crime and found guilty you`ll be doing the time, which is what I suspect he`s worried about.

Stupid conceited bstd, he's spent more time locked up in the embassy than he would have had if he hadn't run away from what he did, and had faced up to the consequences. He's a nobody with delusions of grandeur that has probably gotten people killed.

When the New York Times published The Pentagon Papers no one went to jail. FWIW - in the US publishers of leaked documents may be given a lot of BS and hassle, but they are not generally charged with anything. Nor should they - FIRST Amendment. The person(s) who actually leaked MAY have charges brought. Usually don't.
