There are discussions in a long thread at the Eset forum about whether this update to version 11.0.159.9 has to do with todays MS Patch Tuesday updates, Eset modules and more. https://forum.eset.com/topic/14624-is-eset-blocking-kb4058258-windows-10-16299214/
I think that I didn't describe it in a right way (if I didn't, then I apologize). One of the reasons: from what I understand, it is mostly about Win 10 and I have only Win 7. If you're running Win 10 and Eset and you're having problems to get Win patches, I can only advise to read that thread (although it is now about three pages long). Marcos has just posted there that probably tomorrow a newer Anti-Stealth module will be released by Eset that is supposed to fix this. Anyways, read there.
I got today Anti-Stealth module version 1125. Whether this newer version will fix the problem some users had with getting Win 10 patches, I don't know though.
Lost internet connectivity today, running WIN10. Uninstalled for a couple of days. Giving Windows defender a try.
Didn't have any internet connection issues? Tell me what WLAN Card do you have and the driver version please so I could check for you if they're the latest. I am a drivers specialist.
@Phoenix Thank you for your offer of help. I finally had time to reinstall Eset Internet Security. Everything seems to be OK. Thanks again.
Can someone answer me this question please; Can a 3 PC license for EIS be used to activate AV on Android?
It depends on what license you have purchased. We sell a multi-device security pack in the US which entitles you to install ESET products on any devices (Windows, Mac, Android, Linux). It includes ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Internet Security for Windows.
ESET change with respect to releasing Home products updates/upgrades. ESET is changing the way in which you get Home products updates/upgrades. See ESET forum thread : https://forum.eset.com/topic/14960-eset-is-111400/ See KB article KB2256 : https://support.eset.com/kb2256/
ESET product version numbering format There have been some confusion in the past about the format (in particular with respect to the last digit), so I'm quoting from KB2256 : Quotes: ESET product versioning numbers follow this format: [major].[minor].[build].[repacked] or [localization] For example: 11 [major].0 [minor].159 [build].2 [repacked or localization]
I would like to highlight a few things from that new KB2256 for now. Well, everybody can read them at that article; but I decided to do so anyway. 1. Let's start with the list of potential updates; quoting: • Regular product update • Full version release • Repacked build release • uPCU (micro-update) • PCU (Program Component Update) • End-of-life update • Overnight updates 2. Second about the repacked build release; quoting: A repacked build is indicated by the fourth number, such as 11.0.159.3 replaced by 11.0.159.5. What is important to understand about repacked builds is that ESET products with up-to-date regular detection modules already have the latest version and do not need to reinstall the repacked build. 3. But now about uPCU (micro-update); quoting: The uPCU update is for updates within the same product version (for example, 11.0.154 to 11.0.159). You will see no option or indication in the user interface of the update. There are two different uPCU updates: Differential uPCU contains some patches or files (.dup), whereas a full uPCU contains all product files except modules (.fup). Current known issue: • Mismatch between PCU version number and installed version number: This is a known visual issue with uPCUs: when applied, the information in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall is not updated. 4. Overnight updates; quoting: Overnight updates Coming later in 2018
I have made several posts now about KB2256. Whether it was needed to post so much about it, well, I leave that to others. But in closing words I do want to thank foneil from ESET for that KB2256 article.
for me it has problem i unistalled for now. If u want to recreate it , go to youtube, find an one hour clip and try to go from 5 min to 45, try 4,5 times and the videoclip will stop. Without eset i have not that problem. Mozilla latest and windows 10.
I couldn't reproduce it. I have firefox quantum 59.0.1 and ESET 11.0.159.9 I tried this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXYb-vfFIQQ
Just tried that thrice, it works just fine. Although I'm using Chrome not Firefox after Mozilla has destroyed that awesome browser with the crappy new interface and bloat
Offered manual update to version 11.1.42.0. After update, Eset LiveGrid feedback system message does not disappear.
Yes, thanks Thankful. I too got version 11.1.42.0 offered. Upgrade went very, very slow. I guess the servers are very busy at the moment. There is indeed a problem with LiveGrid at the moment. I have it too. And in at least one thread at the Eset forum people are posting about the problem: https://forum.eset.com/topic/14983-eset-live-grid-after-latest-update-cannot-disable-cannot-enable/
If u have that problem with livegrid is because now the program dont recognise that u are in admin account. Now u cant also unistall it because it says that u are not login in admin account. The only way to make it fixed is to repair it and then unistall it and redownload it. @mattdocs12345 the bug is only repoducable with adaptors that use ndis 6.5 (for example iv-218 )
Actually there are several threads at the Eset forum in which people are complaining about the LiveGrid issue. I'm not going to give them all. This has to be fixed by ESET !
