Wow. How do you install uBlock on FF mobile anyway? You mean the built in popup blocker?

Firefox has extension support on mobile, most Firefox desktop extensions work/exist for mobile too. look for Extensions in the menu.

I was recently infected with the Android/Ransom.SLocker malware and had to remove my last 3 or so downloads and then use Malwarebytes Security for Android to remove it. Kaspersky Internet Security real time protection did not prevent this nor did it detect and remove it during scanning. It was most likely embedded with a program I had earlier installed. My question is:Should Kaspersky have detected this? Thank you

Use a Nokia flip phone. And then a Huawei modem to surf the web via my laptop.
    End of the story.

    let me please comment this!?

    - antivirus is which one? you dont need a full blown suite, and in special NOT zemana
    - adguard - use another browser ;) or avoid apps with ads or use a firewall - last makes much more sense.
    - ccleaner? really? this piece of crap never on a phone. get sd-maid or droid optimizer (ashampoo)
    - WOT is total crap, you already have adguard.
    -
    else
    - battery monitors are futile - any phone has one from OS. if you have accu power loss you can see there what is draining. from comments - nearly all batterie apps are draining - uninstalled. and most are not free or show ads.
    - FX? crippled crap, sorry. get Total Commander
    - FX edit is part of it, Quickedit is free of all, ABC Editor is also nice, but not for small displays
    - VLC on mobile is NOT from videolan.org, no original, its an ad infected piece. i use the built in video player, foobar also but not sure about video.
    - Elixir2 - is the samsung phone that uncomfortable to need another setting tool? ;)
    - speedtest and cpu-z - gambling tools :p either the connection is well or crap, but with LTE you cant change anything

/me too. but i dont use klar/focus, i hav installed fennec, the regular build for android. klar cant use ublock and its blocker is a piece of crap. same for built-in chrome - you need the regular build for android to use extensions. but - not all extensions from desktop are available for fennec.

    Are you sure?
    https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-android.html
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.videolan.vlc

Most apps have ads that I have used, adguard is a very good app
everyone has an opinion, ccleaner is not crap and I am a beta tester for Zemana for android...anyone else agree with Brummelchen?

i did not look on videolan.org, i considered "Videolabs" not as videolan. but i admin also a mismatch to notepad++
    thank you.
thats sadly but true. reason i look for apps w/o ads -> "open source" or "in-app only" which means no ads, but reduced feature set.
i tried ccleaner for android but its really crap on android. thats why i suggested sd maid or Droid Optimizer. ofc they want online but i wont let them and in fact its not needed to go online.

adguard is system wide, has advantage but it can also cause failure of system apps. thats why i prefer a firewall to lock ads out and it also stop apps spreading telemetry or else. i cant prohibit it completely in special not for google and its store, or maps.
so you have to install it ;)
i dropped zemana (v2) long ago as it went full blown and was too intrusive in my browser with its false user agent, absolutely no-go.
i tried v3 in several modi (license depending) at it was awfull. i also tried malwarebytes for android, avast, f-secure, sophos, but all were too intrusive with no gain - and in special avast, f-secure and DrWeb wanted to force me to buy a license.

when online i am at home, or i have windscribe vpn active to avoid intruders. firefox fennec with ublock which is convenient as i can use my settings from pc.

ofc it takes some time to search and try out apps with no ads - or you buy apps but that license is in most cases only valid for this device, no way to alter device and keep license.

concerning FX you really should try Total Commander. its complete free, has plugins for storage or lan, all for free. to have same with FX you must buy pro. i tried so many file manager, also ghost commander but GC has bugs which are not to solved, in special when using lan (plugin).

concerning ccleaner again - wiping storage and in special cache is a really bad idea. just a marketing gag. like on pc it is not needed, in special not for cache. i am running HERE WeGo Maps/Navigation and its holding google satellite pictures in cache. it took some time to gather it and use it offline, thats a great fortune for HERE against google maps. also for other apps, purging the cache is no good. deleting empty folders is pointless, regular used apps will create all from scratch. wipe-create-wipe-create is pointless and only takes battery power.
same here, pretty sneak piece of software. was a recommendation (like HERE WeGo)

could write more but you have to watch yourself, what you delete/clean up, when and how much. same for antivirus - what is found, when it is found - is it found, what is blocked and why. does it have an app analysis? for my self i had that all on my pc and i do same on my smartie, some call me "traditional".

Yes I use it all the time for sites I visit regularly, you can also get it on f-droid, it is open source.

You just click the globe button to enter a URL then if it doesnt load properly, hit the forked arrow button to see the list of third party domains that are blocked, you might have to unblock one or two before the site loads.
Then when it is loaded do save as webapp.

You can leave all the third party ad and tracking domains permenantly blocked.
It works very well, even links to third party sites wont open in the sandbox, you can long press them and have them open in an external browser.

Do you all recommend any app/s to prevent certain apps from running on startup on android? I can't find any options in my s8/oreo to prevent certain apps from running on startup so I'm assuming you need a 3rd party app :doubt:

NR Firewall is one of the very first apps I tried when I bought my 1st smartphone, I may give it a shot again. I am not a phone wiz or guru, I am experimenting all the time so that is why I am here asking questions. I like my PC/Phone (mini computer) to be tidy from any clutter that may create wasted space.

Yes it seems every new version of Android has app management features like that removed. The list of running apps was removed too.
It's like they don't want you to know which apps start autonomously and which ones run in the background.
