The best value licenses I have are for Sandboxie and Shadow defender, both lifetimes.
In the early days, only lifetime licenses were sold but now, 1 year licenses are available. But really, if someone is going to buy a 1 year license, it should be because this person realizes how valuable Sandboxie is and might as well purchase lifetime.

    that is common sense :D

note that lifetime (for some vendors) is not the lifetime of you life, but lifetime use of the product or even version.
like you can use v1 as long as you want but you will pay for v2 or you can use or product as long as it exists but if we abandon it, don't expect any refund.

    Process Lasso = Lifetime.

    Windows Firewall Control = Lifetime.

    REVO Uninstaller Pro = Lifetime.

    HitmanPro.Alert / HitmanPro = 929 days + another spare 2 year license.

    Norton = 777 days + another 1 year license.

    I have lifetime licenses for:

    MBAM ( $25)
    Winpatrol ( sale $ 2.00)
    Appguard ( free)
    Zemana AntiMalware ( free)
    Voodoo Shield ( free)

I have no issues purchasing a lifetime license as long as the cost is right and the product works. However, with the protection I use now and the lifetime licenses I have I see no reason to purchase anything in the near future. Am thinking of running Defender, MBAM and VS as my next setup, all at no additional cost.

One year at most. I dont like to be locked in. I never use anti-malware longer than that since I like test new stuff. If it is a software that I like very much and actually use I want to buy a life time license or pay for new versions instead, as Macrium Reflect for example although not a anti-malware per se.

Shadow Defender, Sandboxie and others I will never consider rentware/cloudware/nagware as I like to buy the software to own on my machine without worry or harrassment. I don't like the trend towards taking away ownership from customers. I like to own my operating system. I hate the constant 'call home' and monitoring online connections that some companies try to impose on customers and consider it a breach of my rights to privacy and independence. I dislike and will not support software developers that think that they have a right to probe and update by default or insist on a 'call home' prior to installation of their software. I've abandoned otherwise good software based on these principals. I also see this as a security and stability issue; just think of how many people have been damaged by unwanted automatic updates that have destroyed the integrity of their system.

You can put an end here as the rest it totally off topic, imo.
"I like to own my operating system".... Wishful thinking......
