FCC Imposes $82M Fine for Spoofed Pernicious Robocalls

I'm reminded of the Jamaican scammers.

 

No surprises. Certain occupations are well known to be at the bottom of the barrel, and this won't help their image any. I hope the fine will put a serious dent in his pocket. Robocalls are detestable.

 

All Philip Roesel has to do is sell some more health insurance policys.

 

If I could answer the phone for everybody, his health insurance ventures would amount to zero

 

I have a way to screen out these spoofed calls.
Set up your cell number for an area code that you have no connection with.
When you see a call matching your cell's area code you automatically know it's spoofed.

 

I dutifully report the most egregious calls (robocalls that leave voicemails) to the FTC tipline, https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

Had it for 2 years nothing but good has got through. Not one crap call has got through (even 999-999-9999).
Block area codes= millions of #'s, and or block prefixes.

Smart phones\ cellphones, not smart enough to be compatible.
