My installation of Bullguard Internet Security has not had a malware database update in 21 hours.

Does anyone know if they have some kind of outage or other situation that has caused this?

I contacted Bullguard support via live chat. The person I chatted with said they don't know of any problems with the update process on their end. I've been running IS for years and have never seen this situation before.

Just curious ... is the problem that Bullguard has not released any updates in 21 hours or that your software is not automatically checking for updates according to the designated schedule?

    Hi,
Has Bullguard a website/page where they give info about the latest database?
Info like for example: day, time, versionnumber of the database?
(that would be also good info for the Updates Team ;)).

The former. Bullguard has not released any updates for over 22 hours now. My software is automatically checking for update once every hour; a manual/forced update finds no updates to install.

Excellent question FanJ! I have NOT found database update information on any page I have been to on Bullguard.com, that's for sure.

    Isn't is using Bitdefender signatures?
Bitdefender hasn't updated its database since Dec 27 and this maybe could explain the delay of signatures for Bullguard :cautious:

    Hi mood and kdcdq,

I was thinking along the same lines with respect to Bullguard and Bitdefender. But I wasn't exactly sure whether Bullguard does not have their own definitions too added.

It is a while ago that I looked at the Bullguard site, but at that time I too couldn't find there info about definitions.

You can see the latest definitions at the following link.
    http://download.bitdefender.com/updates/bitdefender_v9/plugins/
If you open the update.txt file in that folder you will see the version number of the latest definitions.

BullGuard does maintain updates and a whitelist for their firewall and behaviour blocker modules and these are dynamically updated in 48-72 hours intervals (logs are never posted about this though).

I am running Emsisoft on a laptop and it has been consistently receiving updates that go into its \Signatures\BD subdirectory. I assume that the BD stands for Bitdefender since Emsisoft in part uses Bitdefender definitions. I just used my laptop after 13 hours of non-use and it received 19 updated files in that directory. There has been no break in the updates over the past few days.

Odd , maybe these are not definitions coming from Bitdefender. If Bitdefender is producing definitions, why wouldn't they put them into their own product and send them to all other products such as Bullguard.

Fortunately all my installations of Bullguard IS are updating regularly and often like they are supposed to do right now.

    Thanks Firecat!

PS: I just noticed that the definitions info for BitDefender was updated since 27 Dec 2017 :

(Just posted it at the Update Alerts forum here).

Updates are normal for all machines. There was a small delay on December 27, that is all. BullGuard updates are usually in sync with BD with only a few seconds/minutes gap.

I have to correct myself FanJ, it appears it's only the whitelist that gets updated every 48-72 hours, the behavioural protection engine has it's own definitions files which are updated at least once daily.
