    One word: WOW!

Just bought the "bundle" and ran the setup installer for the entire package while booted to one of my "customized" WinPE builds. Even without doing a PE rebuild for proper installation of the TBImount.sys and phylock.sys drivers, the test run was smooth and speedy with good compression. I'm impressed. :thumb:

In a WinPE you only need two files to run IFW...

    imagew64.exe and ifw.ini.

These can be on a UFD if you like. Or internal drive.

Heh heh -- Now you tell me! :D Yeah. I know. I could have asked.

Can I extract the necessary 64-bit and 32-bit executable files from the installer package manually and, if so, where are they?

Not that I know. I get them after the IFW install.

I use TBWinRE/PE as IFW WinPEs.

That's okay. Thanks anyway. I got it all copied onto HDD from the WinPE full install onto the "X:" virtual drive. So I can take it from there. Just being super-cautious prior to regular installation under my multi-boot setup.

You can use InnoUnpack to extract the files from the installer exe. I've been using this method for years, let me know if you need more info. Image and TBView work perfectly in this "portable" manner (in any PE).

:thumb::thumb::thumb: That does work perfectly as you said. Thanks very much! It wouldn't be very difficult to get TBImount working too, but I'm too lazy to redo my WinPE builds to include the service driver at the moment.

Would anyone (besides me) who uses WinBuilder projects for creating their own 'customized' WinPE builds be interested in trying out the script that I've created for myself to install IFW and (optionally) its TBIMount and Phylock components. So far, I've tested it successfully under everything on my own multi-boot system including: the WinXP Gena project, the Win7 W7PESE project, the Win8.1SE project and the Win10PESE project with the W10.1709 base. I'd be happy to pass it along if anyone's interested.

May I assume that your use of PHYLOCK is so that you may image LIVE, locked mounted volumes (X:/) while running WinPE... that would be the only reason it would be needed at all? Neither Phylock or VSS (I don't think it's available with WinPE... I may be wrong:confused: ) are needed for the IFW-ing (new word, huh?) of a resident System image sitting around next to your WinPE OS... UNLESS (and I don't know this) IFW REQUIRES Phylock's availability even when imaging unlocked volumes (I'm willing to learn... Brian, what sayist thou?

    TBImount would be very useful...

Just making my script as flexible as possible at this stage of development. Winbuilder projects allow the inclusion of Windows VSS as a user selectable option and I therefore provided a user selectable option for including Phylock although I install neither myself. Both are unselected by default and the Phylock option is noted as incompatible with the Acronis TI script's inclusion of its fltsvr driver. It may be okay, but "better safe than sorry" at this point.

    __
P.S.: It doesn't yet include the file association registry entries either if you were thinking about accepting the "trial offer" yourself.

<Jeeeesh!> @Arvy , you really make it tough, doncha... :D

I'm not quite ready to jump that far yet... I'm just getting my feet wet with WinPEse. Stay tuned, though... you just may hear a "Knock" at the door.

Just angling for any feedback on a "work in progress". Works fine with all of my own testing, but not yet to be considered as a polished "final product". In fact, I've modified Terabyte's own "tree structure" to make things easier for myself. Don't know why they make IFL, IFD, IFU, etc. sub-sub-folders under IFW instead of under the main Terabyte ... Suite folder. Seems illogical to me.

Any time that suits your own "learning curve" with WinPESE. ChrisR has done a fantastic job with those projects, but documentation is just a bit sparse. It's definitely worth the effort, however.

    TRF,

Correct. They aren't needed for IFW in a WinPE.

For what it's worth, I prefer IFL for restores as it is faster than IFW in my hardware.

I know that, but when you're building an all purpose utility/off-line BOOT disk, the WinPEse that @Arvy is working with is a good direction to go in.

Maybe what we really need is a LinuxPEse project as well :doubt:

If you want to use IFW to do restores without a boot disk you can use "bootwim". Here is an example using Validate. Make your TBWinRE/PE but a boot disk can be skipped for this exercise.

    000_val.txt is...

    Code:
    /v /f:#0xB636C860@0x1:"\Tera\OS\c_B" /sp:0x1A /rb:4

    bootwim.cmd is...

    Code:
    set TBIPath=D:\TBWinRE_files\314pe

    "%TBIPath%\tbwinpe.exe" /bootwim "%TBIPath%\ISO\sources\boot.wim" /run D:\TBWinRE_files\_BOOTWIM\000_val.txt

If anyone thought that I was pushing some "my way is best" argument, please accept my unreserved and categorical denial of any such intention. I just found a way of doing things with which I happen to be familiar and find useful for my own purposes and I thought it might be worth sharing here. Anyhow, it's available from my own web page here for anyone who wants it and I'd welcome any feedback. PMs are probably best for that.

    Arvy,

Is my folder structure different from yours? imagew.exe, imagew64.exe are in....

C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite

These folders: IFD, IFL, IFU, phylock, TBIView, tbwinre and TeraByte OSD Tool Suite Pro are also in...

C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite

Yes, sorry. I wasn't very clear about that, was I. I meant that I gave IFW its own sub-folder like IFL, IFD, IFU and the others under the main Terabyte Suite folder.

Everything works fine as installed for the primary Windows working setup and mine is the same as yours, but the re-org made it much easier to do a simple DirCopy for scripting purposes. All things considered, I should probably re-write the script to copy individual files from the original layout instead. I was just being lazy during the development process -- as usual. :)

    __
UPDATE NOTE: [2017-12-14 20:15 EST] The script has now been re-written and re-uploaded to use the source file tree structure as installed under the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\

    Hello @Peter2150,

You are most welcome ;) ...
No problems at all. I have two lists of apps, one of apps that I use regularly and one of apps that I follow and test out from time to time. I usually check these lists a couple of times a day and when I do find an app that is updated, I just figure that I may as well pass that info along here to the folks here at Wilders. It is nice to know that it does help some members.
I would also like to thank @mood for helping to keep us updated.
(Back to the topic now and I apologize for the off topic post)
