Seems you just can't buy anything nowadays without it spying on you...

It's time to buy Spitfire planes without any software at all. :D

Well, I suppose Lockheed Martin are trying to monetise the Joint Strike Turkey as it's the most expensive combat turkey, sorry, aircraft in history. Although considering Norway inter alios are contributing to development costs this is a bit underhand. Perhaps they didn't translate the EULA well into Norwegian.

The United States principally funds the F-35 JSF development, with additional funding from partners. The partner nations are either NATO members or close U.S. allies. The United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Canada, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Turkey are part of the active development program;[15][16] several additional countries have ordered, or are considering ordering, the F-35. ~ Wikipedia

I'm guessing these partners will all study the small print now.

Eurofighter Typhoon is an excellent fighter, may be a bit less performing that F-35, but his flight and his computerized systems work fine. France and Germany started to develop a new generation fighter, other UE country probably will join: I think that is strategically and economically right that UE country use Typhoon now and the next UE fighter in the future.

    Hi Daveski17,
I was more thinking about the cost per aircraft. One F-22 did cost a lot more than one F-35. That was one of the reasons the F-22 "program" has stopped. But I could be wrong.

    ==========

In general, if you all would allow me:
There is, of course, a lot more to say about all kind of fighter aircrafts, but I don't think that the Wilders board is the right place for that. Yes, I know I violated that and I do regret it. My apologies!
So, let's all (yes, me included) stop here with that discussion.
That all being said, thanks to Krusty for the info in the first post.

    Hi FanJ.

Isn't this forum all about software, hardware and computer security / privacy?

Personally, I think this is the most interesting thread I've read here in ages.

    Hi Krusty,

Yes, this forum is about hardware and software security and privacy.
In that respect your initial post was interesting!
But it is not about: is aircraft X better than aircraft Y, or the costs of aircraft A or B, etc. (and that's where I too crossed the line, which I do regret).

While it is interesting how computer power is used in so many ways these days, some uses cannot be discussed here.
