When you say something like that you need proof. Which is noway true in any form.

That is very odd so I looked for the MD5 on the SHA-256 on VT and it's detected on VT and here from Webroot not. And yes it's the same Cloud Database and in reality VT doesn't use the full scanner as with most AV's on VT they just use some sort of SDK from each vendor.

You can upload files or check MD5 hashes here: http://snup.webrootcloudav.com/SkyStoreFileUploader/upload.aspx

Edit: did you download File: SNS-HDR_Lite.exe or File: SNS-HDR_Pro.exe from https://www.sns-hdr.com
FWIW ~ both executable are VT 0/67 & Unclassified by WebrootSA ~ YMMV

It would be best if you contact Webroot support directly! Webroot Customer Service

Can I pose a potentially heretical (by Watson and Crick +1 standards for sure) question please: Webroot Vs Windows Defender
I have been using Webroot for about 3 years or so (I bought several licences when they we on special at the time on Newegg). I have been very happy with it as it "just works" with minimal fuss and is light on system resources. I have played around with other AV's over the years but have gone back to Webroot after their respective trials have expired.
Anyway, for the last 2 months I have been using Windows Defender with Windows 10 Pro Creators Update 1709 with several additional mitigation tweaks using group policy editor (thanks Martin_c), and have had no issues.
My main question would be with Defender getting better and better with cloud heuristics and detection (given it's larger user base) and very rapid signature updates would the average user be better of with Defender or Webroot in the future?

@Turing Doenitz Depending on how fast your computer is, you may find that WD causes very noticeable slowdowns at times, whereas WSA doesn't. However, because the system impact of security software varies so much from one computer to the next, the only real way to tell if WSA will be lighter than WD is to try both individually on the same PC.

Well I just reread your post, and see that WD is working find for you, but still, WSA may be lighter.

    Greetings all!
What in the name of God's green earth is going on with the little green "w"? I have not seen any comments anywhere about the latest results.

Hello @misterman2100 and Welcome to Wilders! :) WSA achieved a Level 2 certification in this test, which was released approx. a week ago, and the test has not received attention here or at Webroot Community as yet. Please elaborate about any particular concerns you may have.

Hello @Dermot7 and thank you for the welcome! My primary concern lies in the fact that it takes upwards of 24 hours for Webroot to mitigate issues concerning financial malware and In-the-Wild tests, with an effective detection rate hovering around 81%. Within a 24-hour timeframe does not appear awful, but looking at other products and the rate at which certain infections spread, that's a long time!

The last round, Webroot stated that there was an issue involving the installation of WSA, which is why it was removed form the Q2 2017 report from the same lab. Given that fact as well as the most recent test, as well as a recent comparison from AV-Comparatives about Vipre and Webroot, one could only conclude that Webroot is not as up to snuff as it makes it purports to be. I understand the fact that marketing needs to keep a stiff upper lip and sing praises about it's innovative techniques, avant-garde technologies, etc., but when it comes down to it, does it offer the best protection for the money? Or the best protection compared to free products?

Bottom line, IMHO, Webroot needs to walk-the-walk when they talk-the-talk.

That's where WSA's Identity Shield comes in as it will protect your online banking and shopping even if you are infected and it has always been that way. https://docs.webroot.com/us/en/home/wsa_identityshield_userguide/wsa_identityshield_userguide.htm for other questions about WSA and it's detection's feel free to ask at the Webroot Community: Webroot Community - Home Users

That test is way too old to be considered relevant today. The detection rates of security software can vary a lot of time and it's over four and half years since that test was done.

That's almost 5 years old...! Things have changed greatly since 2013 and I didn't watch the video as I don't care for YouTube testers.
