Does anyone have settings for Avast that allows maximum download speeds and still provides proper protection?

Why does F-Secure have so many fals positives? They also see these reports too?

Most of the FPs originate from "Rare application".

When you listen to this (otherwise really good talk!), Mikko says something about "prevalence". In other words, how much of file X they see in the wild. It somehow turns out that their cloud is not populated that much or/and does not have extensive whitelist. After update, programs like Qbittorrent, Total Commander, XnView and such might get blocked by DeepGuard with the reason "Rare application".

I'm yet to see signature FP with F-Secure. But I've seen quite a few DeepGuard ones.

Deepguard in F-Secure is very strong and causes most of the false positives.

I think deepguard could be better for a behavior blocker. The blocker from emsisoft, gdata and bitdefender ist better

it will nail almost every ransomware, but sadly it will also nail legitimate software.

I used F-Secure for a few years, and I only came across FPs with some fairly obscure files (that I knew were fine). Most of the time it never even triggered, because I was using "known" stuff.

I have been using f secure for quite some while and encountered very few FP. In fact Symantec gave more WS.Reputation1 warning from Sonar.

What do you expect from a company that no longer has any real analysis team and runs a shell of a signature database? F-Secure is far better on both technology stack and reputation cloud basis.

Sorry for the late reply. I switched from the F-Secure beta to Webroot, which I absolutely loved. Eventually I switched to Avira's beta because the wife needed an AV that would scan incoming/outgoing mail from Outlook. I try to keep all the computers in the house on the same AV.
