Tinywall is great. All the HIPS walls could make your computer unresponsive in some scenarios. Try to start a full screen game with Private Firewall on max settings. Comodo is similar. It protects you but at what cost? So I prefer the no pop-up approach:
Never had a problem with Comodo blocking anything while playing a game. It has a quiet setting also..
Yes it's pretty good, it also introduced me to the "no pop-up" approach. But I only like this approach when it comes to outbound connections alerts. To auto-block everything is not recommended, for example, HIPS will alert about registration of services and drivers, if you auto-block that then app install might fail.
Tinywall has no capability to block registration of services and drivers. All it can do is prevent connection.
Well, I said "similar", not "the same". It could virtualize part of a program while it starts and freeze your computer. It could prevent some drivers from loading on startup. Happened to me with 2 of the latest versions. It could do much harm. Yes, Comodo is solid, but too intrusive. I used to like it when I was testing malware behavior as a hobby, but don't like it much for everyday use on a multimedia PC.
