The one I downloaded is 5.5.0.2. Maybe they haven't updated their website?

The installed program cannot enable Start with Windows for some reason but the new one for Edge can. :doubt:

Which page did you get 5.5.0.2 from?

But it downloads as version 5.5.0.1.
Hover your mouse over the "Install" button and look at the link at the bottom or right click and "Save Link As".

Maybe it is an auto update.

Enpass desktop program just updated and now the Firefox extension doesn't work. Apparently the Chrome extension does still work.

    v5.6.5

Edit: After a system restart the Firefox extension is working again.

Thanks for the info about Enpass. Never heard about it before.
I´ve been a long time (7 years) Lastpass user and was looking for something else after their sudden 100% price increase that did nothing for me. Enpass is simpler and doesnt have as much bling bling but is enough for me.
Funny thing, I notice that somehow I feel irrationally in peace of mind having control of the database my self, never cared about that before since I trusted Laspass :)

Enpass works really good for the main purpose I use password manager; in the browsers that I use on my PC. First I was a bit dissapointed since the import of Lastpass database didnt sort into groups like I had in lastpass, but after a while I realized I didnt care, the searchbox is good enough. I guess the fact that it doesnt have the option to autofill directly when the page loads is a good thing. I believe I´ve read somewhere that it can be a risk?
I will pay the one time fee for android which I see as a reasonable price for the makers effort to provide a good product.

Enpass Firefox extension has updated too. Thankfully I didn't need to download the file from their site.

    v5.5.2

Anyone managed to fill forms on web pages? I have my name address, mail, phonenumber and so on in "miscellaneous/address" but I have to search for "address" when I use the extension or shortcut, shouldnt Enpass recognize a form automatically and offer the "address" directly?
Anyway, it doesnt fill the form even then. Nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

    *edit*
I found out the answer myself. Seems like it is not implemented yet. I hope it comes in the nearest updates, coz that is a basic feature in a PW-manager imho.
    *edit2*
I have it confirmed from the developers that next major version (6) will have form filling capabilities. As I understand it the next major version is not far away.

Has anyone tried the bridged version of Enpass from the Windows 10 store (not the UWP version)? According to the Enpass website it was ported from the traditional desktop Win32 app to the Windows Store using Microsoft’s Desktop Bridge technology. I’m thinking about trying Enpass, and since this is the Windows 10 version they are focusing on, I thought it would be the best one to try. Any opinions?

Yes, I have both versions installed and the Store version seems to work the same way in Edge as the other version does in Firefox and Chrome.

My understanding is that there are currently three Enpass versions for Windows 10 - two from the Windows Store (bridged and UWP) and the traditional desktop app that you download from the Enpass website. Which two do you have?

I have the Edge extension, and two versions of Enpass, one from the Store, the other is the traditional Windows version.

So the two from the Store are the Edge extension and the password manager itself.

If you don't use Edge you don't need the store version/s.

I see three Enpass entries in the Windows 10 store - two apps (bridged and UWP) and an Edge extension. Here’s where I found the info on the three Enpass apps:

    https://www.enpass.io/blog/enpass-for-windows-which-version-should-i-use/

Which of the two apps in the store do you have?

Update: I see the bridged app is the only one in the Store with the Edge extension so I guess you have that one.

I’m interested in the bridged app from the Windows 10 store for two reasons. First, I want the Edge extension and second, it looks like the bridged app is the only Windows app that will be developed in the future.

Since you have both desktop versions (traditional and bridged), I assume you would be familiar with any significant differences. The only difference I know of is the Edge extension. Can you think of any other differences with the app itself, not just the extensions?

I read through the manual for the traditional desktop version, but I can’t find one for the bridged version. I assume they would be almost the same. Is that assumption a good one based on your experience?

Functionally they are the same. The only real difference is the default location of backups.

The Traditional version saves them at C > Users > [Username] > Documents > Enpass > Backups.

The Store version saves them at C > Users > [Username] > AppData > Local > Packages > SinewSoftwareSystems.EnpassPasswordManager_[bunch of numbers and letters] > LocalState > Enpass > Backups.

With both running the only way to tell them apart is by going to Help > About.

The Traditional version is currently 5.6.5 while the Store version is 5.6.6.

Or you can do what I've done and set one to use the 'Dark' theme and the other to use the 'Light' theme. I don't use Edge often and the Enpass extension in Edge even less, so I don't set the Store version to start with Windows.

Thanks much. Good info. I assume those locations are for automatic backups. Can you save a manual backup to a location of your choice? Also, can you save it in CSV or text format in addition to the encrypted format?

You can set any location you like. You can export as text or CSV.

Why not try it? If you don't like it uninstall it.
