It has to start from somewhere doesn't it. More feature creep. Before long that number will be large and world wide. Of course the ideal guinea pigs are those who are least likely to fight against it. DISGUSTING.
The claim that doctors need pills with devices in them so they can see when mental patients took their medicine sounds like a spurious reason for testing something that would not pass FDA rules unless it can be called a medical product. The article talks about people with serious mental illness so it probably means institutionalised mental patients will be used as guinea pigs.
The juxtaposition of "medication" and "compliance" is horrifying. Let me see. What comes to mind? Alan Turing. Soviet psychiatric diagnoses. Medication that's not voluntary is a human rights violation. If it's totally voluntary, there's no issue. But there's a huge gray area. Court-ordered medication is clearly coercive. But what about insurance incentives? Isn't controlling access to affordable insurance a form of coercion? I mean, seriously, ingestible RFID is a conspiracy theory trope!
Well, just watch the dumbed down masses roll right on up - open wide and swallow this next phase in the program.
