Boxer A goes on ESPN and tries to humiliate Boxer B because Boxer B got knocked out in the first round against Boxer C.

Yet, Boxer A, for whatever the reason, refused to step into the ring with Boxer C.

Who is Boxer A to criticize Boxer B for failing a challenge that Boxer A did not accept?

Emsisoft is better than that. Makes Emsisoft look small IMHO.

Because Emsisoft has participated in other AV-Test tests I am assuming that Emsisoft declined to participapte in the subject test. If the decision of whether or not Emsisoft was included was solely at the discretion of AV-Test then my posts should be ignored.

@hawki oh ok, i see... That is only your assumption, there is no vendetta against MS as you implied but if you think so, that is your right, and i won't debate against it.
and honestly, if we want to bash MS, there is plenty of easier ways... :)

Let me point out that Emsisoft went out of their way to introduce a new setting in their software in order to enable/disable integration to the Windows Security Center. So now users who want to use the new security features can.

I don't think many other security companies would bother to do that.

What is more interesting is MBAM's result.

However , Malwarebytes still good to be a second option scanner ,
and almost no issue to compatible with other security software :)

As i remember , MB always claim they are focus for those Malware which tradition antivirus may miss .

I had many times helping my friend to rescue their seriously infected system ,
    Trojan、Worm、PUP/PUA、BitCoinMiner .... etc.
Malwarebytes usually still can detected some other antivirus can't find .

I had their premium license ,
MB is still good products for me . :thumb:

Yep MBAM is still good and now in v3 Premium you have MBAE included which is very nice, let see with time.

I'm surprised that they didn't mention that certain ransomware tries to inject code into legitimate processes, causing them to bypass most folder protection tools. So I wonder if Win 10's "Protected Folders" is really better than I thought.

That it automatically allows all windows processes is a no no for me. I like the fact with Pumpernickel I can specify the processes, but also protect those process also.

We just explained the feature as simply as possible, without any ill intentions, not our role to disclose every vulnerability a product/feature has, there is plenty of pentesters for that, and i guess in the coming months we will have all those new features of Win10 scrutinized and tested to the core ;).

The thing is, if Protected Folders really fails against certain ransomware, it was a nice opportunity for Emsisoft to point this out. It would have been the first thing I tested because it has always been the weak point of folder protection tools.

Well, this is no surprise because if it didn't it would bother people too much. And don't even talk about Pumpernickel, I hate the fact that he didn't bother to build a user friendly GUI for tools like MemProtect and Bouncer. They could have been great.

Without going off topic too much, they are great, but you have to be willing to learn and adapt.

I guess I am back to Emsisoft, I missed my old buddy :isay:
I noticed that the updater is faster and lighter on system performance, so far so good.

So, what were you using before? Was it ESET?

Yes, I was using ESET Internet Security (very good solution btw).

Where I live (Brazil) ESET and Kaspersky are much cheaper than the rest, even with the loyalty bonus Emsisoft was more expensive than those two, but it is what it is.

Has Emsisoft improved their fp's? It is one of the reasons I went to another product. Also the RAM usage was not to my liking. Thanks!

On the latest AV-C october test we don't have any FPs.

Because we store signatures in Memory rather than in the disk for faster access (like several other AV does, ESET in particular), now if you want less memory usage, just tick "Activate Memory Usage Optimization" in settings. Then EAM will have a lesser footprint on memory but then all will be in the disk. If you have lot of RAM, better they are used.

I dont know, I actually never had problems with fps while using Emsisoft, the only solution that gave me headaches in this matter was Norton, it was outrageous.

About the RAM, I like the fact that Emsisoft doesnt hide its memory usage with pagefile, this approach allows high system performance.
