Thanks for posting. An excellent film and the analogy between the current mass online surveillance and the Stasi surveillance in the former East Germany was chilling.

It is better to acknowledge that you are being surveiled and finish what you are doing.

I just read the following from http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/stasi-museum-germany-surveillance-1.4364771

"If the documents contained in the building were laid out end to end, they would stretch for 10 kilometres. And if you added in the documents from the main headquarters in Berlin and 11 other outposts, they would reach 158 kilometres."

Good god ... those Stasi agents over 25 years ago were very effective considering the resources and technology they had at the time.

USA still the best. But barely.
Less than 10% will believe or care.
The idea that's scary to me in the near future [or now] those that put any barrier to protect their privacy will be dogged & persecuted.

Yes and like one guy in the documentary said about totalitarian rule, people think it couldn't happen here, what they don't realise is, everything to prevent it is being removed, everything to enable it has been implemented.
All except the people. So the question is no longer if it could happen, its when and who.

You are right...like the old saying goes, "nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care". Pretty much nothing you do is private anymore. Not just you, but it applies to everyone as well.
