    Hi Dave,

Trying to delete a protected folder or exempted program gives the error "There was an error removing the selected folder".

Furthermore, closing the main Heilig Defense RansomOff window will actually try to exit RO (I know, you get a confirmation..) but I expect the window to go to the system tray. Has this been done intentionally?

    Environment:
    Windows 10 Pro X64, Version 1709
    RansomOff: 5.2017.306.5218 RC1

When Folder Protection is disabled in the Main Window, right-clicking on the RO tray Icon and then selecting Folder Toggle, folders are shown as Enabled.

Yes. If you notice there is a minimize button which takes it down to the system tray. And there is no 'Exit' menu item from the system tray. When in Simple Mode, the menu tray is disabled (to make things simpler) so the only way to close it is from the window itself. So we carried that behavior over to the main window. Also, kind of more inline as well with how normal windows operate.

    Hi Dave,

Dont forget this one: Trying to delete a protected folder or exempted program gives the error "There was an error removing the selected folder".

When deleting, make sure you check the items you want deleted. That means clicking the round button to the left of the item which causes a check mark to appear. Let me know if it still throws the error after trying that.

Haven’t played around much with Ransomoff yet, so this may be a stupid question, but is the process execution control a full anti-exe like ERP? Or is it more limited in scope?

Does this have co-signed drivers, and still require Secure Boot disabledtw have not had problems with that before, so I should be OK?).

And I presume one can also still install over the top?

Edit: OK, first question answered here: https://malwaretips.com/threads/ransomoff-first-look-at-new-user-interface.75873/page-3#post-686208

    So first visual impressions:
Not keen on the new icon and prefer the old one.
Dont like the lime? green coloured buttons.
Not keen on the full screen info button window either.

The floppy grind is still present but not as loud!

A HIPS will replace an anti exe software removed on both machines already. Use Sandboxie but I alternate between sandbox and none. Anyone's preliminary impressions of the HIPS Lite?

So, RO may or may not be able to communicate with Sandboxie. And Shadow Defender may or may not be able to commit RO changes. Thanks

Can't win them all I guess. I'm still amazed you have a floppy that works.

The program has problems with OneDrive. Files that the program creates cannot be loaded OneDrive.

Like you i'm a bit partial to the original icon we been used to before but no real complaint given the power under the hood.

Glad to see that your floppy disk noise is toned down.

    You're in very rare company.
Few of those users are even left anymore so I admire the determination to stay with it and Ransom0ff despite that.

The new GUI doesn't work for me. I can't test in VM. Problem is the new toaster in the lower right hand screen. It doesn't adjust for the small screen size of the VM so I can't access it, and that totally screws up RO for me. Hopefully that will be an easy fix.

I noticed that when you install RO, you will get to see the command prompt and it also asks for incoming connections, what is the purpose for this?

I first had to turn off self-protection for Explorer file dialog to open to Import settings after install. But then got a pop-up, error pop-up: 'There was an error importing the settings'

Dave has my settings and will look at it. Will revert till that is fixed.

Not familiar with ERP but RansomOff's App Lockdown feature has a number of options that can be used to tailor process execution. Maybe someone else familiar with ERP and RO can chime in.

Not following what you mean. The installer has no network connectivity. RansomOff itself though does check for updates and will periodically ping the server. At what point of execution does the command prompt show? And does it display anything?
