I found this link http://geswallfreeware.win10appstore.net/win10software.html and installed it. It seems to work fine on my 64bit W10. But I am a bit confused after reading old posts here that it is not compatible with 64 bit windows or Windows 10.
Is this Geswall that can be downloaded from the link some kind of fake?

I tried going to the site again and got the same popup but it did not block me from going there this time. I reported the issue.

stapp tried going to your second link and got a popup again from adguard . what is strange is the web page shown in the popup is the same as the first link but the link in the address bar shows the same link as what you gave in your second link.

I was pointing out that sukarof was in fact downloading from that site (just in case he thought it was the Windows App store)

Although it seems legit, it is not a link I would choose to download a Windows App from.

ok I misunderstood. I see now you were telling him that is where he should download but rather asking him.
it is just weird that your two links and his all give the same warning and the site in the warning is all the same web address. what I wrote to adguard about is the popup says it blocked it but didn't I still ended up on the page. looks like a redirect .

The file you've downloaded is not fake, because it's from www.gentlesecurity.com:
    http://www.gentlesecurity.com/files/geswall.msi
But that site which says you are downloading Windows 10 App is fake, because last GeSWall version (2.9.2) is from 2011.

Ok, thanks for your replies guys. Now I know that it is an old version (that seemed to work on 64bit Windows 10 though)
I have now restored an earlier image of my system and look for something else.

bjm browser extensions don't have the same protection as adguard for windows. adguard for windows not only checks the web page against a black list but monitors all objects loaded on that page as well.

Pliskin, do you know if there is a more recent version? The site at gentlesecurity.com seems like it's gone. I was able to download the 2.9.2 version, but as you said, it is from 2011. Do you know what happened to them? And/or do you know other intrusion prevention software that is similar to GesWall?

Geswall was abandoned years ago, the closest soft in term of functionality is ReHIPS (Sandbox with Application Control)

Thanks guys. Any idea what happened to them? I'll give ReHIPS a shot.

I don't remember exactly, not enough incomes maybe, it was really a geek tool, and quite ahead of its time.

Yes, I used GesWall for a long time: strong and reliable, I liked it better than Sandboxie.

Aw...Ima keep an eye on Gentle Security. Maybe they'll pop up again somewhere, ahead of their time. I have it running on Windows 10. 64 bit. No issues, but I really can't tell how effective it is being, either.
