ESET NOD32 v11.0.144.0 64-Bit = https://download.eset.com/com/eset/apps/home/eav/windows/latest/eav_nt64.exe Changelog: · NEW :UEFI Scanner · Updated : Connected Home Monitor · Updated : Accessibility improvements - Screen reader software support · NEW : License Manager (my.eset.com) · Updated : Installer and Activation changes · NEW : Product upgrade / Downgrade without re-install · Windows 10 RS3 compatible
is the exact same with a small change to the small tab. You still cannot exclude multiple items at once via checkboxes like some AVs. All my recommendations in the wishlist in the ESET forum blown by the dust......
Thanks Papusan! Some initial remarks: 1. In this Eset forum thread Marcos posted the changelog https://forum.eset.com/topic/13508-eset-110131-released/ The thread was about version 11.0.131 but in the meanwhile it seems to be 11.0.144 2. The name of the full installers has been changed. For example the name for NOD32 : - was : eav_nt64_enu.exe - is now : eav_nt64.exe Similar change for example for Eset Internet Security : - was : eis_nt64_enu.exe - is now : eis_nt64.exe 3. 3.a I don't see yet the changelog for example for NOD32 at https://www.eset.com/int/home/antivirus/download/ Usually (at advanced download option) there was at that page the changelog posted. 3.b I don't see yet the changelog posted at https://support.eset.com/news/ 3.c But : 3.c.1 The reason might be that it isn't yet released in all languages (but at the Eset forum was posted they follow soon); 3.c.2 I got today a notice from my reseller ESET NL that there was a new version, which, BTW, they called ESET 2018. It came also with the changelog. 4. Downloads of full installers may be a bit slow at the moment. I have it already downloaded but not yet installed.
Thank you for the analysis. Please do not that when I downloaded the file now, it didn't say English after you select Windows 10 then 64-Bit, but it pointed to something saying Universal so I think the downloads will noe be generalized rather than being as per region like before. Just a guess
It is there now at https://support.eset.com/news/ It points to: ESET Windows home products version 11 have been released https://support.eset.com/news6571/ and What's new in ESET version 11 home products https://support.eset.com/kb6564/
The full installer seems indeed now to be "universal". During installation you can choose your language.
Some other remarks. 1. I noticed that the name of module (or component) "Virus signature database" has been changed. It is now called "Detection Engine". BTW, here it is still called "Virus detection database": https://www.virusradar.com/en/update/info/ 2. Again about "Virus signature database". In previous versions you could "hover" your mouse pointer over the little Eset icon and you could quickly see not only the version and version number of your installed Eset product, but you could also see in one quick glance the number of the "Virus signature database" version. Alas, that last possibility (quickly seeing the number of the "Virus signature database" version) is nomore. IMHO that is a mistake. 3. Again about "Virus signature database". In the Update Tab you could quickly see the number of the "Virus signature database" version in previous version. Now you have to click there on "Show all modules" and look at the first item "Detection Engine". 4. About "Cleaner module". Before I upgraded, I had on version 10.1.235 Cleaner module version 1149 (20171023). Now I have, after the upgrade, Cleaner module 1145 (20170906). So, that looks to me a step back. But wait, not everyone gets all the latest module versions at the same moment ... ough ... "All modules are equal but some modules are more equal than others". 5. LiveGrid is driving me a little bit crazy in 11.0.144. Why? Because, when I am offline, I don't need info from the Eset program that LiveGrid is not accessible. Yeah, I know that; I am the one who choosed to get offline. What I want is a setting where I can choose if and when I get such a warning! (maybe it exists but then I have not found it). 6. Is everything negative? No, it isn't.
For those of you (like me) that are running ESET Smart Security (not the Premium version), there is a no-cost no-fuss upgrade to ESET Internet Security. Simply download EIS, uninstall Smart Security, and install EIS using the same install key you used for Smart Security. I've done this on two systems with no problems or issues whatsoever.
I just installed over Smart Security and it picked up my license and all was well. Might not be the preferred method but it seems fine.
EIS is not an upgrade from ESS, it is the same product renamed. ESS is being retired as a name, and from my understanding the Premium version is all that is left of Smart Security moving forward. You can use your license for an equivalent product of lessor one, but not a higher one (your ESS license will work for EIS or EAV, but not ESSP).
Installed it last night on my home pc. So far so good. Parts of the GUI now look like the business endpoint model. Interesting.
Quite a few including "yours truly" have had the same issues if you check on the Eset forum. At this point, I am inclined to believe the issue is with the LiveGrid servers syncing with ver. 11.
Thank you itman! Good to know that I'm not the only one. I hope Eset will be able to "fix" this ("little") annoying thing, and is willing to do so. At the moment I haven't yet looked at the Eset forum to see the postings there about it; sorry about that.
I just noticed, after todays logging on and updating, that I have now again Cleaner module: 1149 (20171023), the one that I previously had. Good.
Hi itman, Please allow me to come back to this. My issue was the annoying "ESET LiveGrid is not accessible" when I'm offline. Thanks to your post I looked at the Eset forum. I found there this thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/13562-the-eset-live-grid-servers-cannot-be-reached/ One of the questions there was Marcos answered: The answer from Marcos told me that it is possible to turn off this annoying "LiveGrid is not accessable". But the way to do it is a bit different on my version and system. It is: Advanced Setup > User Interface > User Interface Elements > Statuses > Application Statuses > General > Turn off "ESET LiveGrid is not accessible" That worked. Yes, one has to be aware of that warning from Marcos!! It doesn't make a distinction between you're offline or online; that is to be expected, I guess. So, one has to decide: would you like to turn off that annoying message or not. It doesn't mean that you turn off LiveGrid. I for myself have decided for now to turn off that message "ESET LiveGrid is not accessible".
Quote from Marcos at that Eset forum thread today https://forum.eset.com/topic/13562-the-eset-live-grid-servers-cannot-be-reached/ If I understand Marcos right here, then such a change in future versions would solve my issue. I hope that I understand Marcos right on this ..... And I hope that it doesn't take Eset too long to make that change.
