New uBlock Origin v1.14.14 less aggressive in blocking?

When visiting this website www.engadget.com and if I just leave the page on the block counts increases slowly

In FF v56.0.1 with uBlock Origin v1.14.14......I get 67 blocks and counting

In Chrome browser v61.0.3163.100 with uBlock Origin v1.14.8.......I get 202 blocks and counting

Can't be so much difference for uBlock Origin when visiting the same site, right?

Is the new version less aggressive in blocking?

Another interesting thing is in Chrome the counter is not showing. No issue in FF though. Anybody has this problem?

Just ran FF 57 beta 7 with uBlock Origin v1.14.14 and it also shows 30+ blocks only

I only get 27 blocks in Chrome but then I'm probably not using the same filters as you. I've always understood it is the selected filters that do the blocking and not uBlock itself.

 

firefox 25, chromium 10 (same filters)
depends on default settings.

at least i dont care i will set my options to have it properly displayed.
numbers are for enthusiastic/encouraged users or paranoids.

 

i have noticed that on some websites ads are visible for few seconds before they disappear and i don't think it did that before.
