@mood Can you still answer my question above your post, #25?

After installing of Waterfox and launching it, there is a "mitigation wizard":
    Waterfox_mitigation wizard.png
no manual copying of files is needed. Select Firefox and Waterfox is importing an existing profile of Firefox :cautious:

I am using Waterfox portable, and did not see the wizard, nor how to access or initiate it now?

Edit: OK I see with the portable version the profile is in the portable folder, but it would stll be nice to use the wizard.

If you don't see this wizard because it was already installed or you have used Waterfox before, you can try to do the following:
    Code:
exit Waterfox and rename the folder Waterfox to something else:
    C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Waterfox\
    rename it to (for example):
    C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Waterfox_\
Now Waterfox thinks it is running the first time and the Wizard appears :)
Select "Firefox or previous Waterfox" and it should mitigate your Firefox-profile to Waterfox.

    Edit:
In the case of of a portable version, it is not storing the profile in the AppData-directory but in the "...\WaterfoxPortable\Data\profile"-directory.
Navigate to the profile-directory of Firefox and copy files including subfolders:
    Code:
    c:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\...default\
    to: =>
    "\WaterfoxPortable\Data\profile\"

Thanks for your help! Job done.

Just using Waterfox (and Cyberfox) as a backup, with my legacy extensions, for when FF57 arrives.

Tried using the mobile Waterfox but Adguard throws a wobbly. I think a certificate needs to be installed. I have a link to it but it is now a 404. Can someone help me forward please.

    Had the same.

Try Firefox manual certificate import as per this link: https://kb.adguard.com/en/windows/solving-problems/connection-not-trusted

    That worked for me.

    Waterfox v55.2.0 Released (October 3, 2017)
    Announcement
    Download
    Short Road Map
Just a hasty roadmap of what to expect with Waterfox in the coming future. The 56 release notes will have a much more in-depth roadmap.
    • (This) Release of 55.2.0 which includes security fixes from the latest version of Firefox, so as to not fall behind.
    • Release 56 around mid to end October.
    • 56 will remain as ESR version for the foreseeable future, keeping updated with security patches.
    • In parallel, development of a “new” browser will be happening which will carry on with the XUL/XPCOM mantle or equivalent. This could mean having low-level WebExtension APIs, meaning the same level of customisation as is possible with older Firefox extensions. No cemented plan yet as I test and see which route is best.
    • More in depth roadmap will release with the v56 release notes.

Just installed WF, imported my FF profile and it seems to be working fine. Something I found is that unlike Cyberfox (shows two lots of FF extensions), CCleaner doesn't see WF so does clean it? I'm guessing not as I wasn't prompted to close WF when running CCleaner. Is this normal?

I am liking Waterfox as an alternative to Firefox ESR, but I think there will increasingly be a challenge now to maintain the code.

Yeah, if you want an alternative to Fox, otherwise I don't really see any advantage. Most of the privacy concerns can be mitigated in about:config, and CCleaner can disable the new hidden extensions. I certainly didn't see any speed improvement.

    I'll pass.

I hope Cyberfox dev has a change of heart.

I am liking it too. I hope that they can maintain it because ESR52 will disappear in May 2018.

Maybe a coincidence, but after installing 56.0.3 I was unable to load YouTube. It would open for three seconds then crash. Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe not related to the issue, but you can try this:
