Right, even if VoodooShield could have prevented it, I'll take less daily stress / time wasted over winning the malware lottery grand prize.

P.S. My setup is far from weak without VoodooShield. And I'll need it even less after Windows Defender Exploit Guard and Controlled Folder Access are released.

*Not to diss those who use VS, but like I said: It's not for everyone. Nor is it (or any other software) the holy grail.

 

Actually VS would have alerted to the attack as it entered the system via usb stick.

It was software installed on a computer that integrated with the software used by the hardware.

I did have a conversation with Dan about protecting IoT systems, VS would be perfect if the system had room (sufficient ROM/RAM) for it Stuxnet was (is?) a perfect horrible example of what we will be looking at.

 

Stuxnet is! As it has escaped the environs of Iran and is out in the wild.

Only a problem though for people with atomic facilities to worry about.

Yeah, but NASA's clever enough to not let USBs be stuck in their boxes, yes? And besides, they already have VS, yes?

If you don't need VoodooShield, just uninstall it and quietly leave, no announcements necessary.

I was actually discussing VS, unlike your unnecessary blanket remark here. Sorry, but you don't really have a say to command us, unlike Dan or forum staff.

VoodooShield is a great product for its purposes. That is to lockdown a computer. But that works best on static systems if you don't want to often devote some time and effort in maintaining it.

I am just catching up with all of this... I have installed VS 4.03b. I also had to re-register again. Can someone direct me to the latest VS version? Update check in VS Setting is frozen and won't do a thing. Is that strange or not?
EDITED: Nevermind I found it..

 

So far VS 4.05b is running smoothly ...

 

So far I haven't tried v4 so I'm still waiting a little longer to try v4. 3.59 is working so well......

Well whatever. I didn't call you out by name, but you did to me. So here it is. You claim that you were "discussing" VoodooShield, but anyone can see that with your previous few posts, that you were bashing the product, and saying goodbye.

Since you are neither Dan, or the forum staff, you have no right to slam me for expressing an opinion here. Focus on the topic, OK?

I need to revert back to VS 3.59...it's not running smoothly in v4.05b..ugh!

I am getting multiple & repeated notifications of a potential exploit being blocked as @Baldrick has described.

 

I have reverted back to v3.59. There's not as many bells and whistles after running v4.05b...but at least I stopped the popups!

 

The same here... very chatty. Several and repeated pop-ups from 4.05b.

 

What a shame..I guess we will have to wait for a more solid Beta that isn't so "chatty".
